My 17 month old has been sick since he was about 4 months. He has had sinus infections, ears infections, respritory infections, and catches viruses very easily. From the time he was 5 months old till about 9 months old he was constantly prescribed antibiotics. Everything from Amoxcillian to Suprax. All together I would have to say he has been on 10 different antibiotics. At 11 months old he had tubes put in his ears. Since then he has been on Rhinocort nasal spray, Allegra, Ciprodex ear drops, Pulmicort respules, and Xoponex respules. He started to respond to the breathing treatments at first but his right eat constanly drains a yellow or green discharge. Yesterday I brought him to the ER because his right ear started draining blood. His nose constanly runs with yellow and green mucus. He doesn't have asthma as far as I know but he does have difficulty breathing sometimes because of the build up from sinus infections. I know that these are all infections but I believe that he has becoem completely resistant to antibiotics. I am not sure how to treat him to get better. I have considered taking him to our local children's hospital and having tests run but I wanted to get some opinions before making that leap. What should I do.
