Light headedness and such....

For the past year or so I've been having this problem on and off. I've went to 5 different doctors and recieved 5 different answers. None of which seem to be correct. See, I get this really lightheaded, blurry headed kinda feeling. Sometimes for days on end. And sometimes it'll also feel almost like a slight chestcold. It seems to usually come and go. And is bad when I get worked up.

Last week was the worst case ive had so far. My gf and I were fooling around and suddenly I got so lightheaded, i fell onto my bed almost blacking out. And when id stand up Id just about fall over. I went to the dr who sent me to the er.  We were at the er for 7 hours just to be told they aren't sure whats wrong.  Which really is getting annoying. Because I'd like to not be dizzy and feel like this.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

Thank you for the quick and informative response. I will be sure to go and ask about the things you mentioned. I mean I'm only 27 years old. So I'd like them to help me fix whatever is wrong. Whenever I do see a dr they just say my bp is fine and that i seem ok. It's like the fail to understand im not alright. I was trying to research things myself but the best I could find was "Virtigo".  Which doesnt totally match. Because I realize that when I get really worked up or excited (ex: Jogging, nervous, etc etc). I get this really light headed feelin. Heck I have been slightly light headed all day and I havent done much of anything. It's just a very uncomfortable feeling.

But I will check into what you've shared with me for sure. Thank you once agian and have a great weekend

Have you checked your Blood Pressure for laying, sitting and standing? I've fought with doctors
for 5 years over my husband's Orthostatic Hypotension. They said he just needed to get up and
down slower. The Blood Pressure medications they prescribed were done incorrectly which basically
didn't help at all. This last trip to the ER (for his falling and other symptoms you described), a
Resident in Triage finally listened and put him on a heart monitor and brought in a cardiologist/arrythmyologist that put in a pace maker one week later. He told me the correct dosing instructions for the blood pressure medication. I strongly urge you not to take being ignored by
any of your doctors or the ER. They are not the people who need to be making those decisions.
Get a referral to a respected cardiologist/arrythmyologist in your area. PS I told the ER that every
time he fell, he'd be coming back until they figured out what was wrong. The risks of hitting your
head or breaking bones is too great to tolerate anything less than serious health care. BleuBelle
