My upper stomach hurts

I had part of my colon removed in Feb.07. Now it seems that after I go to the bathroom and have a bowel movement my upper stomach hurts really bad I get a sharp pain. I went to the hospital and they said that nothing was wrong with my stomach. They said something about Gastritist. Do you get this sort of pain with Gastritist after you have a bowel movement. Please help.,
