Pelvic muscular issues

Many of the above topics fall into play, however rectal pain and discomfort are the most bothersome to me.  I'm in alternative medicine and what I discovered (and certainly out of my scope of practice) is the internal releases of muscular tissue within the pelvic area.  I discovered this procedure from an osteopath from England and Greece.  I now believe and understand the technique.  You must be very skilled and trained as PTs are now doing this in the US, however I wonder if they truly understand the road of fascial components that may have come from a back or leg injury that has manifested itself in the pelvis (our gravity and holding structure).  I'm better if I do core work and you'll be better if you can exercise the vaginal regions.

Very interesting post.  Thanks Judy.  I have spent the last 2 years working on a pelvic floor pilates program for my patients with neuromuscular weakness in the pelvic floor.  This program has been very helpful for patients with urinary incontinence, uterovaginal prolapse, and pelvic pain.  I strongly believe we look to quickly to surgical solutions to neuromuscular problems.  Core work is essential for overall health but especially pelvic health.  The pelvic floor is the "floor of the core" and requires a specialized program to maintain an adequate degree of conditioning and performance.
