thank you for your reply. I had a pelvic floor surgery two years ago. I'm still having the same issues only worse with the rectocele, , my bladder was prolapsed, and to this day because it was not secured it falls to one side, and when I get up in the morning i can void about 14 oz but about 8 minutes later I have to void again and as much as 3 cups. my urethra hurts all the time I can't wipe I have to pat dry, it hurts to have relations with my husband. there is no infection. It is from the scaring damage from the cystoscope better known as Noninfectious Urethritis. Pelvic floor therapy is not an option. I do not have OAB. I've done all the Kegel exercises I plan to do they do not help with the bladder....now what??????
You are correct in your research showing urethral dilations falling out of favor over the years. This procedure used to be quite common. It is still done today in certain circumstances. Many patient thought to have stenosis of the urethra actually have pelvic floor spasm and need to be treated with Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy and sometimes muscle relaxants. If you are concerned about your treatment plan, I would suggest you get a second opinion from a urgogynecologist or another urologist. Thanks you for your question.
