Following HIFU treatment for prostate cancer, I had a catheter put in.

You should be urinating normally right away. How long have you been having trouble? Having a catheter raises your risk for a urinary tract infection. If you are unable to urinate after having one then I would suggest seeing your doctor to have a urinalysis done.
