Hi,
I have been bothered by prostatitis since about 1990 and the cause has never been determined. Very little is know as to why some males have problems with this.
I had come down with a Staph infection I believe. This happened after a vasectomy and removal of a hematoma, and a year later I got the staph infection of the left testicle.
I ended up having emergency surgery to have a left orchiectomy. It could have been strep as well, as I can't realy remember which one it was. In any matter it eats body tissue and they were not sure if they had the infection under control. As a result the scrotum was left open to heal from the inside out.
When our eldest daughter was born my wife had a strep infection that she did not know about. She ended up passing it to the baby. Our daughter ended up on live support with lung problems. Luckily she survived it but she had a lack of oxygen to the brain and has some learning problems.
It is possible that this could be part of the cause of prostatitis. Better get it taken care off.
All the best.
Ron
Hi,
My wife informed me that it was a strep infection. It was the same kind of virus as in flesh eating disease. Trust me you don't want to end up with it.
Prostatitis has no definite cause, and only recently 2010 was their any proof that harmful bacteria is sometimes present with prostatitis.
Prostatitis is going to be a really tough to beat, and playing the blame game will not help...ive been there, it just adds stress.
One thing that is common among prostatitis sufferers is generally poor health. And improving your overall health is a good start.
hope you get better soon!
I had a wicked case of prostatitis and joint pain etc. for the 1st time in my life that started a little more than a month after a nasty strep throat that was cultured as S. Pyogenes. It took a few months to resolve. I think there is absolutely a connection after reading up and seeing how many people have asked this same question after it has happened to them. When you look at how the kidneys and heart have post strep complications why couldn't it happen elsewhere?
