When REsults from a urine drug test come back negative, can the Dr. tell exactly what caused this. For example if it came back positive for opiates, could you tell the specific type of opiate that was detected in the urine.
If you have a fistula, the urinary infections will continue though perhaps intermittantly as the connection may close from time to time. I must emphasize that you need to be evaluated by a urologist. Even in the best of hands, fistulae can be difficult to find.

Dears Sir,
I thank you for your time and help. Your description of penis farts were right on target. How ever I was hoping for better news like it would go away in a day or two. I will make a follow up with my doctor and share your input. At the moment I am on Avelox 400mg Perhaps he will change treatment and hopefully it can be taken care of with medication.
The fever is gone, my normal eating habits are on track except pop. It still is not tasting good.. no loss it will help my weight etc... I do have diverticulits that flares up from time to time.
Is there any medication you suggest that I could pass along to him? If I am given a new medications is there a time frame for this clear up?
Thank you again.
Joe
Hi,
I have a similar issue, since last March I have had a fistula (hole) between the rectum and prostate. I was passing gas and at time fecal matter through my penis and catheter.
This is a serious situation as it will cause severe UTI or kidney infection.
Since you have a fever it indicates that you have an infection. Immediately seek medical help an infection can get serious fast. Once the infection gets into the kidneys you are realy sick and could do permanent damage if not treated.
This can be life threatening.
I will have a surgery to see if this defect can be repaired by a minimal invasive procedure. If not I will have a serious surgery ahead of me.
God Bless,
Ron
If you are truly passing gas through your penis (pneumaturia) then you have a urinary tract infection with a bacteria that produces gas or you have a connection between your urinary tract (usually your bladder) and your intestine (usually colon). These connections are due to infections/inflammations such as diverticulits and Crohn’s disease. In either case you will need to see a urologist and get these connections treated. Failure to do so may result in severe infections that can be life threatening.
Good luck.
