Hey everybody,
I'm 18 years old, male, no family history of any urology problems, and seemingly in a healthy medical condition. I do get anxious about my health, so bear with me.
Since a year and a half ago I've been experiencing a variety of urinary problems. Perhaps I made them worse by worrying and thinking too much about them, but I know I have a basis. They include feelings of incomplete voiding, bouts of frequency, occasional hesitation, etc. (these are the big 3). On occasion I had pain with urination, but I dont know if thats related to the other ones and it hasnt been a problem in a while.
I had a urinalyis and it came out fine. I also visited the urologist and told him about my symptoms (especially the voiding issues, as sometimes in the past I had to strain and push and release after the main flow). So I haa urodynamics test to see if I was holding urine.
I came for urodynamics and the doctor looked at my bladder, and I was holding around 850ml pre-test (and I think I could have held a bit more)! I did drink a ton in preparation for the test and really had to go. So I voided, and the urologist said I completely emptied my bladder.
Since my bladder was unusually big, he did a cystoscopy a few weeks later. I voided before, and sure enough my bladder was empty when he went inside. The cystoscopy was fine save for a "mound" somewhere inside my bladder, which I had a CAT scan to investigate (I havent met with doctor to discuss this, but from when I talked to him on the phone he said it looks like it was nothing).
So I sorta want to know what the deal is? My bladder seems totally huge and would indicate something stretched it, but apparently my bladder emptied fine both times the urologist checked it. My only explanation would be that, due to my bodybuilding, all the water I drank for a few months (I think around gallon a day, maybe a tad more) might have greatly expanded my bladder?
I just worry about anything neurogenic or kidney-related.
