Hi,
The hernia is possibly not causently posing an problems for you right now, however it's needs to be monitored.
I had one for several years and it did not hurt too much untill it let go in 2006.
When I woke up one morning and it had increased in size. I also experienced severe pain at times. When I experienced more pain I went to our doctor who immediately sent me to a urologist. The urrologist was of little to no help but sent me over to the hospital to be seen by the general surgeon.
The general surgeon had a quick look at things and told me that it was an inguinal left hernia, and it needed to be addresses immediately.
I was sent to emergency and had surgery almost immediatele.
I woke up in the morning and the urologist told me that I had an incarcerated right inguinal reason.
They were able to safe my right remaining testicle. I was told that it was repaired wiith mesh and I was told that it most likely can happen again.
Now several years I get some pain once in a while but nothing severe yet. Should that happen I will go in to see the doc right away. By waiting the surgery could have gotten far worse in a short amount of time.
If it does cause severe pain, go in to consult with your doc right away.
God bless,
Ron
Hello,
Inguinal hernia is not serious. Surgery is the only treatment and cure for inguinal hernia and you can discuss about this with your doctor.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Is this serious ... Does this require treatment or will it go away on its own ??
Hello,
This bulge in the pubic area can be due to inguinal hernia , swollen lymph node or a small cyst. Inguinal hernias develop as the result of a weakness, tear, gap or opening in the muscle wall of the lower abdomen or groin at a region called the inguinal canal. As a result of this opening in the muscle, the contents of the abdomen, such as intestine, may protrude through the muscle creating localized pain, pressure and/or a bulge.
Discomfort may not only be present in the inguinal area, but may also radiate into the hip region, back, leg or even down towards the genitalia region as referred pain.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
