I am curious about what you wrote below about dehydration causing your cells to retain fat.  I am never thirsty.  In fact I find it tough to drink even two glasses of water a day.  I usually sip on a glass of decaffinated iced tea (no sugar or sweetner) throughout the day.  I never heard that dehydration could cause fat retention in the cells.  It's very interesting.  I sometimes wonder if I am chronically dehydrated, I just always assumed that if you aren't thirsty then you can't be dehydrated.  Thanks for the food for thought.  I will do some research.

Hi, how are you?

I used to be that way, too. I'd never drink any water at all. I wouldn't feel thirsty and I didn't like water. truth is when you start increasing the amount of water you take then that's when you start to feel the need for more and more water. the more water you drink the more your body will tell you to drink. I'm thirsty all the time now..so I make sure I drink a gallong of water. Try it !! there's nothing to lose, right? Besides there are plenty of toxins you eliminate in the urine stream, toxins that, after all, you do not want to keep inside.

About the other subject, the comment I posted about fat and water well I heard it on the radio on my way to work one morning, not too long ago, probably on Monday. I heard it from a very reliable source and so I believe it. I've also done some research about how the cells in our bodies function. Since we are mostly made out of water (or better stated, two thirds of the human body is basically water) it is wise to assume that water is essential for us since it is found in many internal functions in our bodies. Water helps transport nutrients and waste products in and out of cells, including the fat. Lack of water will result in retaining that fat which is held in the cells since the transportation process will have absolutely no support.

By not drinking water you are literally forcing your body to eliminate toxins, go ahead with the digestive, absorption, circulatory and excretory functions the hard way, resulting in those functions not being able to be executed properly.

You must drink water to eliminate fat and clean the INSIDE of your body. Just like it cleans the outside of your body when you shower, it is imperative for your organs to function properly. I too would never drink water (when I was a teen) all I drank was diet coke. I drink about 84 oz per day ,daily
You should drink twice your body weight in oz of water. I have completely lost my taste for soda. Cannot stand to drink one now. I will sometimes drink tea and my cup of coffee in the am. But other than that it is water. Sometimes I add lemon juice when I get bored with it. I notice now that the more I drink the more thirsty I am, wierd how that works.

Thank you so much.  I am so glad I found this post.  I googled dehydration and was shocked to see all the problems it could cause.  I have many of those problems, especially low energy.  I've been trying ot get back into exercising but have been so fatigued.  I am going to increase my water intake, I'll probably have to do it gradually because I literally have to force myself to drink the little I do now.  Also, I saw that you can get bloated from not drinking enough and I've been having trouble with bloat for a few months now.  And I thought my hormones were the root of all evil (lol).  Thanks again and wish me luck.  Bottoms up!

Good luck with your water intake. I'm glad you've decided to take one step towards a more healthy life. You'll also notice a change in your skin and you'll like it...trust me you will. Your stool comes out even easier and you will feel no need to drink anything else but water.
