I need to lose some weight.  Can any one help?  I walk twice a day. (Now that it is winter some time it is hard becasue of ice and snow.) I eat very little and have high cholestrol and on zocor.  What I do eat is healthy. I don't eat a lot of junk food.  I don't know when the last time is that I had a fast food burger.  I eat at home mostly.  When I do eat out I make sure it is healthy. I just has another blood test and it is up.  I need to speed up my metabolism.  I am on the go all the time. I am 49 years old so I do know that age has some factor in the slow metabolism, but what else can I do?  I eat right and excerise.  If it is the gene thing what else is there to do to lose weight?  My mother's side of the family are mostly all morbidly obese.  My cousin that was three months younger died two years ago because he was morbidly obese and never went to the doctor.  I am trying to keep this under control, but I am at my wits end.  PLEASE HELP!

Eating healthy is great to keep your body healthy, but may not be enough to lose weight. Weight loss is a matter of calories eaten vs. calories burned. Try keeping track of the calories you eat. It's easier than ever thanks to the internet. I like to use fitday.com. Compare what you're eating to what you should be eating (http://www.ketv.com/sh/idi/health/calcs/bmrcalc.html). You need to eat 3500 calories less than your BMR each week to lose one pound a week. Or burn it through exercise, or a combination thereof. Try not to dip below eating 1200 calories, though, or your diet could backfire, slowing your metabolism. Good luck.

Does anyone know where I can get Phentermine in the Dallas FW area?

Get yourself some of the weight sets that are made for women.  I like them because they have smaller handles and they have some type of soft covering over the weights.  They are made by Danskin--you can order them online on Amazon or buy them at Wal-Mart.  Just lift weights with them a few times a week to build some muscle mass back up, and your metabolism should increase.  These will not bulk you up and they are not man weights--don't worry.

Can you post a menu for us?

What did you eat yesterday?  List everything.  Don't leave anything out, good or bad.

Thank you for all the ideas.  I am going to try some of the ideas that you all have suggested.  I like my kitty.  He looks like he is some big wig. I will get some weights and combine it with walking.

Combining weights with walking is an excellent idea!  I like the kitty too.  I once had a black kitty, but my husband hated him, and the cat died. It is a sad story.
He looks like an intellectual kitty:)
