I agree completely! That is why I am really trying to be "present" when I think I am hungry. I need to recognize true hunger, and not ....well, you know. One day at a time. Today was a good day. Always looking for Core recipes. If you have a source, or have some favs to share, I'm all ears. :-)
Hugs,

I thought it would be harder, but actually, both plans are very similar.
And I hate to say it, but until we all learn the basic tenet of any permanent diet change---knowing when to stop--we will never have any long term sucess.
Core is all about knowing when to stop. Flex is too, but that is not stressed enough. Flex is a good program, you will learn about portion sizes...but until you learn how to recognize "satisfaction", you will have a tough go of learning to stop.
I just joined WW a few days ago. I had attended meetings a few years back and lost 13 lbs. For me, the core plan is a little harder because I am not good at portion control. So, for now I am sticking with Flex. Let us know which plan you end up chosing!
Thanks for the info. I am going to check out the website. I live in a very rural place and it would be tough to go to town for meetings, not to mention the gas consumption. Thanks again....I'm working on my attitude!....I think I can do this with your help and someone to be accountable to besides myself.

I started on Flex to learn the portion sizes and amounts, and changed to Core about 1 month in. If your materials are older, it is well worth joining again to get the latest materials, or join online.
Core is really the same thing as Flex, only you don't count points for every single thing you eat like you do on Flex. On Core, there are groups of foods that you don't have to count, as long as you eat them in sensible portions.
Those foods are (I'm oversimplifying grossly):
lean meats
whole grains
fat free dairy
fruits and veggies
There are a few easy to learn rules about a few other foods, but basically, if you eat those foods, you don't count points for them. You still get 35 points a week to eat on other foods, so you can still eat out or have treats if you want. Activity point rules are the same. You still have to get in a certain # of servings a day of each, just like on Flex.
Here's a typical Core day, with points if indicated:
B--oatmeal with Splenda, with skim milk and bananas
sn--string cheese (1-2 pts, depending on brand) and an apple
L--whole wheat wrap (1-2 pts) with shredded rotisserie chicken (no skin) and lettuce/tomato, fat free dressing if you want, 1/2 cup FF/SF pudding
D-Lean grilled pork chops, baked potato with low cal margarine (1 pt) or Butter buds (0 pts), oven roasted veggies such as broccoli and cauliflower
Dessert--skinny cow fudge bar (1 pt)
That's a whole day for 3-5 pts (depending on the brands you use). Some days you may use less points, some days more. You can add in more fruits or veggies at any time if you are hungry, for no added points. You could also add in some FF cottage cheese if you want/need more dairy.
Its easy once you learn the foods. I'm never hungry.
By the way, I'm on the Flex Plan. I have to learn more about the Core plan, so I will keep my eyes open to see what Peek has to say about it.
I'm sure Peekawho will be by later to answer any questions you may have.
She, herself is on the Core plan.
I joined WW (online) last month and had my 1 month weigh in today and am very pleased to say that I lost 10 pounds my first month....YAY!!!!
Good Luck to you!
