Good Sunday morning, everyone. How are we all doing today? It's bright and sunny where I am, after about 3 days of rain, so it's beautiful in my world.
So - how did we do this past week? I did pretty good, with eating; not as well with exercise, but I'm getting there. I'm trying to add more veggies to my diet and a new one I added this week was sweet potatoes, but it has to be a certain kind!! I was in 2 different grocery stores one day and each had a different type of sweet potato/yam so I bought one in each store... now I can't remember which potato came from which store!! LOL Anyway, baked with some salt and a bit of butter --- yummy!! Once I figure out where I got it, I'll make those a regular part of my diet, in place of baked white potato, which I dearly love. That was my new experience for the week!!
I've also been trying to be more diligent in writing down what I've eaten. I know I should use it, but I find the app a bit cumbersome and for me, I pay more attention, when I take the time to actually pick up my pen and write down what I ate. I have a little notebook reserved for that purpose.
As for exercise - I was pretty lax on that, though I did get in one 2+ mile walk. I think I mentioned before that my winter neighbor has gone back to her home state for the summer, so I find myself less motivated when left to my own devices. I do have a treadmill and I put it to use yesterday, with a 30 minute interval "walk". I can change the speed with the push of a button, so I start slowly to get warmed up, then gradually increase the speed for 15 second intervals. When I get as high as I can go, I slowly decrease the speed for 15 second intervals until I'm at a point that I can walk easily. This can also be done outside on a regular walk; one need not have a treadmill to do it.
Anyway, for all my efforts, both, with diet and exercise, I get to claim a 1.2 pound loss for the week, so I'm happy with that. Of course, that doesn't mean I won't get it back this week, as it seems I've gained and lost the same few pounds every week for that past few years, since I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, but I keep trying!!
Now, it's your turn. How did you do this week? If you met the goal of losing one pound (or more) this week, congratulations. If you didn't, do you know what stalled your efforts? Let us know how we can help, whether it be tips, motivation, support, etc. We're here to do whatever we can to help you succeed.
Wishing everyone a great, successful week.
Remember: we win by losing -- weight!!
