HCG and SIMEONS DIET - need help!!!

by Duck2Swan, Oct 14, 2007 05:25PM
I hope you have time to answer one quick question ... I am about to start the Simeons plan and HCG injections but I have an INTOLERANCE to fruit. I can not eat apples, berries, grapefruits, etc! In Simeons diet, he says you can not eat an extra piece of melba toast (or other substitute) in place of the fruit. Please - what can I do? I can NOT eat fruit but I do not want to screw up this diet, I am 100% committed to doing this exactly right - can you help me?! Thanks so much

I personally disagree with Boss Man.  Sorry....

Why would you sabotage your diet from the very beginning?  Why did you pay for the product to do this diet without thorough research as to what the diet entails?

Anyway... My two cents worth.

Good Luck to you.

From what I read in Kevin Trudeau's book (even though it is not the actual Simeon's protocol) you really don't want to eat different foods other than the foods on the list because the foods on the list metabolize and digest differently. For example, even though brocolli may have less calories than some of the foods on the list, it takes longer to digest. As far as your "fruit intolerance" you are really only elimnating two of the foods listed on the entire list. The rest of the foods are meats and vegetables. You could probably eat "other things" with the same calories, but you shouldn't expect the same results as in the original Simeon's protocol. I think you should focus on what you can eat on the list and get your extra calories from the foods on that list. Hope this helps.

Hi Ducky.

Not sure how rough it'd be to do without the apples, BUT - in the diet section of Pounds and Inches, Simeon states patients "can omit anything they wish" from the diet.

Actually, you'll probably drop weight quicker without the fruit. A medium sized apple is approximated at 81 Calories & 21 gms of Carbohydrates. The less carbs taken in, the more fat
that will be converted to fatty acids and ketone bodies in replace of the carbs for energy.

hCG claims nothing - Simeons claimed that on a negligible fat & restricted carb diet it would promote fat loss. The Asher & Harper study showed patients on hCG conjunct with this diet lost approx twice that of those in a placebo group.  The Franks study used 85 gms protein, 31 gms of fat, 133 gms of carbs, approx 1030 calories (more than twice Simeon's protocol called for) and showed no significant difference between those taking hCG & the placebo group.

DIET IS EVERYTHING ON THE PROTOCOL. Do you think Simeon would suggest not using cosmetics because of the fat content and possible dermal absorption if it wasn't ?

Ducky - good luck to you. Look forward to calling you Swanny.

You are an interesting poster. Do you go around and crush other people's dreams on forums or is this particular one a special case? I have read so much information on hcg and everything that I have read from you is just misleading and hateful from what I researched and have witnessed. Case and point: I have lost 6 pounds in three days on the injections without any hunger. You should find something more constructive to do with your thoughts!

Thanks SajoGirl., Good points.  I have wondered about this powerhouse of knowledge Bossman.  Interesting.  Everyone's truth is just that, Their Truth.  There are so many fictions within Science. What I have studied is Dr. Simeons "Pounds and Inches," and a lot of what he did in his research makes sense, others do not.  I take things with a "grain of salt", we all can be proven wrong by someone.  I am very sensible and do not jump on every bandwagon there is.  When we have tried most everything to help us with will-power, then most of us then resort to something that we feel can really help us get started.  The 500 vlcd has done that for me.  I have lost 8 pounds in a little over a week.  I do not proclaim it is fat, but it is pounds and inches.  That is good enough for me.

This is on another subject, but If by some fluke, my DNA has me programmed that my fat cells will not cooperate no matter what I do, then I just have to work with that on another level.  Can DNA be re-programmed?  I have heard that it has.  Has anyone ever heard that with the escalation of consciousness to higher levels of density that our DNA will become transformed to 12-strand instead of the two that it currently is?  Just wondering if this is also "mumbo-jumbo" or someone's fantasy for futurstic bodies of light?

I DO feel that after I come off HCG that I will eat much differently and maintain mine to the level that I want to be.  I have a whole different relationship with food now.  Something is working, because I have not done this good in a very long time... probably 15 years.  I had gained 20 pounds in 20 years, so now with moving in the direction to lose it completely, I feel much lighter and am also looking so.  The scales and mirror is what I am going by right now, and the compliments my husband is paying.

Anyway... all of you have a great day.  Debate is fine. But debate just for the sake of doing so, sometimes leaves one feeling that behind this mask of intellectualism is someone crying out for recognition and to really be heard. I hear you clearly, and am listening.  Thanks all of you who care enough about your physical and mental bodies to keep them healthy.

I think getting rid of the fruit is the way to go too. Delmem is right, it does say that in the protocol, so thats what I'm going by!

Bboss: are you a doctor? ....cause we are all going by a book that was written by a doctor who did years and years of research on the subject.
