Weight Loss Battle

Well my husband and i drive a truck for a living and its way to hard to get the right food on the road. We carry a small fridge on the truck but its not enough to hold a weeks worth of food. It doesnt seem to matter if i eat or not i dont drop my weight. I am overweight by 20lbs and dont know what to eat on the truck and what exercise i can do in the cab of the truck. I try different things but nothing works. My thyroids are fine as well. I think its the foods i eat. What can a person in this industry do to eat healthy? they give us fast food places at all these truck stops and i never know what good or not cause i dont get alot of exercise. Sometimes i try and go without hardly eating just to drop a pound or two and that seems to work, but i dont want to go down that road. thanks

Hi!  I don't know how long you're on the road.  (I think you said a week). But maybe you could try the Lean Cusines/South Beach Diet/Healthy Choice entree meals from the Grocery Store.. Most truck stops I've been to have Microwaves and almost everytown I would guess has some form of a grocery store. As well as packing along lots of fruits and veggies that don't require refrigeration.  And you're right...FOOD (the right quanity/type)is the 1st step towards weight loss. Coupled with walking at least 30 minutes when you take a pit stop (probably a much needed break from sitting down) will start the lbs to shed.. Good Luck!

Hi, thanks for your response. We get  home about every 2 to 3 weeks and if were lucky we can swing by earlier on occasion, but the little fridge we have is a cooler not a freezer unit so buying those meals can get tough. I can probably store about 3 in the fridge. Would you suggest doing those meals for lunch and dinner? I thought about just eating soup for dinner and the shakes during the day. they dont need to be in the fridge. what do you think about that? would that be nutritional enough?  Stress i know plays some role cause i stress about our bills alot but i have no idea how to stop that and lord knows i have tried my own ways.

WOW!! Cooler you say!  ;) You're right that's not enough to hold you over.. However; a lot of people have lost a substantial amount of weight on Slimfast and other various plans that offer shakes as meal replacements.. So.. yeah it's def.. doable.. If you can hold 3 entrees in the (Fridge) that would be 3 nights worth right there and do your shakes for breakfast and lunch.. and don't forget the fruit (most not requiring refrigeration) for your snacks.. Even though it seems as if the odds are against you.. actually they may be in your favor. Without the option of getting up and going to a vending machine whenver you get hungry and only being able to eat the food you've prepared might work in your favor.   I'm not sure about the endometriosis.. I don't even think doctors know the exact cause for it.. A friend of mine was diagnosed with it as well.. She was overweight.. but was told it was due to poor eating habits..heredity...and PCOS...Hope any of this helps a little. Oh.. and as always.. consistency is the key to any long term weight loss!

I was reading your posts with redynamite and I can only imagine how hard that must be to keep your weight down on the road like you are.  You might want to also try a good protein shake, I like one called Mothers Milk (I think), something like that anyway, it comes in a gallon container and only needs to be mixed with skim milk or water.  The chocolate and vanilla flavors are really good.  The protein will help keep you full longer and if you can add some kind of appetite surpressant to help stave off hunger I think you could do great.  I always got hungry in an hour on slimfast, thats why I am suggesting the P.S.  I love the lean cuisine and smart ones for lunch and or dinner.  You could mix the frozen foods up with the PS and have a little variety.  I don't really think it matters which order you do the meals I think the frozen meals and a protein shake all have pretty close to the same calorie intake.

Good luck!  I know you will do GREAT!!!!!!!!!!
