started transformations today

by liljen, Jun 04, 2007 12:00AM
hi there. I went to the transformations clinic here in florida today. I have 5 shots a week plus phentermine. they gave me an 800 cal diet to use. was wondering if anyone could give me some idea about how hard it is to stay on this diet?
They said I will do 8 weeks with shots and then 3 weeks off. I need to lose about 50 pounds. would 2 phase one rounds do this?

Once you have made up your mind to follow the diet, it is not that hard. I found the amount of water to be the hardest to adjust to. If you follow the diet as it is laid out, you will see the results.

Depending on the type of eater (over-/under-eater) you are will determine the amount of weight that you will lose. Also, you drinking all of your water will help determine how much weight you lose. It is kinda hard to say how long you will take to lose 50 lbs, but 2 Phase I's should do it.

Good Luck & Congratulations!

thank you so much.  I am hoping when i go in next week for my weigh in i do see a loss. I would be highly discouraged if there is no change :( I am just afraid that I will not lose anything. I always drink water so adding a little extra everyday is not that much of a change (hopefullY)  i don't typically over eat. but I don't eat healthy by any means. thanks for the encouragement. hope to hav great results here shortly.

by Tman875, Jun 04, 2007 12:00AM
If you don't, you can talk to one of the girls and she'll help you determine what might be going wrong so you can change it for the next week. Also, make sure you eat all 5 times during the day. I know that it is hard to remember to eat the morning snack, but it helps.

If you haven't already, I would recommend getting a scale so you can weigh your protien. I found that to be quite helpful!

Good Luck!

I have a fruit scale, i was not sure if that would weigh the protein as precisely or not. I have this horrible headache today, i took some tylenol. They say that you will get headaches at the beginning. hope it doesnt last too long. I don't if i could take it a whole week. did you hav ethat problem?

by Tman875, Jun 05, 2007 12:00AM
I did if I missed any meals/snacks. When I ate all of my meals, I didn't have a headache. Part of the reason you may have a headache is because your body is adjusting to the hCG and the 800 cal diet. It shouldn't last the whole week. If it does, make sure you talk to your nurse when you go back in.

To: Me too!
I also went to Transformations for the first day yesterday!  Having read Dr Simeon's 'Pounds and Inches', and having been told over the phone that Transformation's diet was based on Dr Simeon's, I was very disappointed!  Their diet is definitely NOT based on Dr Simeon's diet. The only resemblance is they prescribe the HCG injections, although they take a lot of liberties with that. They have you take shots 5 days a week for 8 Weeks, then break for 3 weeks!  Dr Simeon has you take hcg shots for 43 days straight or less), then break for 6 weeks. (If you continue on the diet after that, the breaks get longer - 8 weeks, then 10 weeks, etc).

The reason for the maximum of 43 days, then a 6 week break, is because that's what it takes to keep your body from getting immune to HCG.  Transformations as much admitted the plateau happens to their patients because when they tried to sell me a 'metobolic enchancer'. Their comment:  "the last 3 weeks of the shots hcg doesn't work as well"! ( direct quote of what they told me!)     If they were following Simeon's diet and stopped before the last 3 weeks, you wouldn't need their 'metobolic enhancer' at that time.  I'm also alarmed at the 3 week break.  In Doctor Simeon's published document about this diet, he specifically says the break needs to be 6 weeks, or longer for some patients, to avoid HCG becoming non-effective for you.

Another sore point: The food list Transformations provided is totally different and they have things listed that Dr Simeon specifically said 'to avoid', because they interfere with weight loss.  I told Transformations their diet looked more like weight watchers than Dr Simeon's diet.  It does - it looks like a weight watchers diet with Calories reduced to 800.  They have all food groups listed and Doctor Simeon's plan does not - it only has protein, vegetables, fruits and melba toast or Grissini bread in the bread group. All groups are very restrictive- a hundred times more than Transformations.

I did get the injections, but I plan to follow Dr Simeon's plan more closely than theirs. I told them as much, and they didn't have a problem with that.  No one in the office seem to have a clue what was even in Dr Simeon's plan, nor had they read KT's book!

Now for a little unconfusing:  Dr Simeon's diet is Phase 2 in Trudeau's book, and it is exactly the same as Simeon's protocol.  Trudeau created his Phase 1, 2, 3 & 4, as outlined in his book (Phase 1 being all the cleanses and preparation for the diet).   Transformations refers to phase 1 and phase 2 and says phase 1 is based on Simeon's diet (by now you know I disagree with that).  So when people refer to phase 1 and 2 in the blogs - try to understand which phase 1 they are talking about! Other Clinics also use Phase 1 as the 'diet', and phase 2 for something else.

Sorry for 'blowing off some steam' in post above.  Now let me see if I can shed some light on your original question.  HCG injections are supposed to do several things, one of which is 'give you a feeling of well-being and prevent hunger' (Not until the 4th to 5th injection however).  I opted not to get a prescription appetite suppresant because of that.  This is according to Dr Simeon's research and the patients he monitored over many years.

Dr Simeon's diet is based on 500 Calories per day and the choices were much more limited than what Transformation provides.  I can see how some people may need the 800 Calories, but I am what Transformations calls an 'under-eater'.  I just eat the wrong things!  Normally, I only eat between 1,000-12000 calories a day.  If I eat more, I gain weight. I almost need the 500 calorie a day diet to make a big difference and lose enough.

Since you started the same day and you will be following the Tranformation's diet, let's keep in Touch and compare our progress.  I actually won't start the diet until Thursday, because I have an 'all day Spa Gift Certificate' that I'm using Wednesday.  You can't have massages while you are taking HCG (something that was a surprise to Transformations), but is emphasized in Dr Simeon's medical paper, so I opted to start the next day.  I have 38 lbs to lose to get down to 150. I'll evaluate the situation then, and see if I want to lose more.

Oops!  One too many zeros on that 1000=1200.  If I was eating 12000,  I'd be a blimp for sure!

by Tman875, Jun 05, 2007 12:00AM
Hmmmm....neither my nurse nor my counselor ever told me that Transformation's diet was based on Dr. Simeon's diet. Also, when I called to schedule my first appointment they told me that their program was based on his research and not his diet.

To: Tman875
I'd even like to know what research it's based on.  They don't give the hcg shots the way Dr Simeon instructed, and there is no other resemblance to Dr Simeon's Research.  Have you read Pounds and Inches?  If you need a copy, send a request to my email Id and I'll email you a copy (***@****).
Be sure and put sonething about hcg in the subject line, because I delete a lot of spam without opening.

No one in that office even had a clue as to what Dr Simeon's research involved, except Hcg shots and a diet, and they didn't know any specifics of those.  They were not able to answer any of my questions about differences between their program and the original program. Also none had read KT's book.  It was a little disconcerting knowing they think their plan is based on Dr Simeon's Research/Diet and yet they knew nothing about his research or diet.

Everyone in the office was very nice and cordial, and when I told them I was going to follow Simeon's plan more closely, they didn't have a problem with that.

by liljen, Jun 05, 2007 12:00AM
I don't remember for sure what their statements were. I do they said that their diet is based on research done by simeons.
I noticed today while looking on the other posts around that I was given 125iu and most people are taking 175 to 200 iu. was wondering how much of a difference it will make.
I don't have a copy of dr simeons diet but would be interested in reviewing it if you have it available. ***@****
What clinic are you going to? I went ot lake mary.

by Star Princess, Jun 06, 2007 12:00AM
I started on monday so today is day three. I was invited out to eat on Tuesday and I couldn't resist. So I had desert, a roll, and crab. The crab was okay but everything else was not.

I have heard from others that there are "load" days. I have no idea what that is and I was wondering if it was in the book. I may have to go get one.

Liljen, will email you a copy of Pounds and Inches by Dr Simeon, and a copy of an excerpt from his 64 page document, the part that talks specifically about the diet with 'no-no's" highlighted in Red.  Answer #2: I went to a Tulsa Transformations Clinic.

Star Princess: regarding 'load days'. That is the terminology some people are using to describe the first 2 days of Dr Simeon's original diet.  It requires you to eat a lot and preferably high calorie foods the first 2 days of the diet, then on the third day start on the 500 Calorie diet and stay at that level for 23 to 43 days. (I guess that's one way to shock your metabolism and system in preparation for the 500 Calorie days!) Some people are referring to the first 2 days as 'loading days'.

hi! were you given the 175 to 200 iu or were you given the 125 iu like i was?  I see in a lot of posts that people are using the higher ones. is that making a big difference on weight loss?
to be honest i am having trouble eating more than 500 calories a day. Transformations wants 800 but i get stuffed before i eat nearly half. so i am not sure if that is healthy, good, expected....really don't know.
thanks for the copy.

I  received the 125 units, which is fine. That's what Dr Simeon wrote was sufficient for everyone.  He went on to say larger doses made no difference. Don't know why some people are taking more.

I'm staying close to Dr Simeon's plan and the 500 Calorie diet. The only thing I'm taking from the transformations diet are a few vegetables that I'm adding to the ones on Dr Simeon's list. I definitely won't use Pimentos, Pears, Artichokes, or Okra. Those are things Dr S said 'interfered' with weight loss under HCG, yet they are on Transformations list.

I also plan to take my shots 6 days a week, and be 'off' only 1 day, which is 'in line' with what Dr S outlined in his diet (either daily or 6 days a week).

How are you going to get 6 days from transformations? One of the ladies in the group with me asked if they could do it 6 days and they said no.

I won't eat any of those foods either. I don't need to be slowing down on my weight loss. lol. I have enough to lose.

How is it going?  Have you lost weight?

by Satriana, Jul 21, 2007 07:41AM
You can buy more shots but its not needed. I talked to them too. Because the hcg lasts in your body for 3 days anyhow, (its a time lapsed thing) there is no need to do more. Also, by taking more, you will increase the time shortage of when your body will become intolerant. (as with any drug).

My friend struggled with the conflict of Pounds and inches diet plan to transformations diet plan as well. She tried both, and saw no difference in weight loss. So she is just sticking with the Transformations diet since its less restrictive. We have to remember that the originial diet plan was based off the food available and the quality of that food from long ago. If that makes a difference.
Who knows...anyhow...do what feels good for you, just dont SKIP anything or space the food intake out too far. Eating constantly keeps that metabolism revved up!! ZOOM ZOOM!! lol
Also remember, that over time, they have changed things in the diets, to perfect it...not hurt you.

Hi all, so excited, today is my first official day of dieting after 2 load days (thurs and fri) and my Thurs a.m. shot..todays start weight 203, I am 5'7....want to get down to the 130's...although like my body at 150...we will see...shooting for 130's, aim high right..haha...

anyways, in L.A, Ca....signed up for 4 weeks thru a Dr. and taking shots MWF and 250 units each day...have a 500-800 cal diet...super simple, 4oz protein and 4oz vegies for lunch and dinner...pc. wheat toast/hard boiled egg breakfast, Mrs. Dash seasoning only, lemon juice for vegies.

also ordered HCG online so after the first 4 weeks I can continue giving myself the shots on my own...the clinic is only 3 miles away, but going there 3 times a week I figure will eventually be a pain in the bootay...but I did want to learn how it works and get my labs approved etc. first before being on my own.

does anyone know of any other good forum sites

will post weight change weekly. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!

Just a question... Dr Simeons protocol is meant to reset the hypothalamus and your metabolism. You are suppose to stay away from drugs and chemicals. I wonder how the  Phentermine would interfere or change the end outcome. Is there enough data to know how people react. Don't take me wrong.. I am all for weight loss, however I gained my weight due to medications that screwd my metabolism up. Never had a weight issue before that. I also would like know more  about peoples experiences after phase two. How many experience a lot of weight fluctuation - even if they follow the protocol.

Would someone mind e-mailing me a copy of Dr. Simeons protocol?   My e-mail is ***@****.  Thank you.
