weight loss assistance from doctor

I am 29 years old and this past year have gone through thyroid cancer and a total thyroidectomy. I am currently on synthroid and my TSH levels are good, but despite diet and exercise I can not lose weight. I am 5'2" and 190 lbs. I am so depressed. I am not normally this big. I gained weight with both my pregnancies, but the thyroid has put me over the edge. I made an appointment with my doctor for Friday. Are there any meds or anything else he can do to help me? Any suggestions of what to ask for?

Hi, I went to a weight loss clinic in Hickory, NC. today. I seen a poster of Thyroid problems in the exam room. I don't have a thyroid problem but, I think this Doctor might be able to help. I started on Hcg injections today. 50u twice a week along with Adipex 37.5mg once daily. I have heard great results from the nurses that work there that have been on this.

If anyone else has info. they would like to share it would be great.
