anemia by dieting

hi I am 37 yrs old fem and have stared to diet since a month ago in a nutrition expert.

also have taken up again daily brisk walks. for the past 5 days i also have my TOM . anyhow, yesterday i was feeling sluggish all day and as I was having coffee with a friend , i started to feel like i would faint. took my bp and it was 8/6. was tired all day since then. I am a bit better today and went for my usual brisk walk in the morning.

i noticed today that my nailbeds are white . is it  possible the combination of period/dieting(with not much meat) and exercise contributed to my ill feeling?? should i test for anemia??

I also have 3 children.

If you want to get healthier and lose weight, you shouldn't be dieting but changing the way you eat permanently. Dieting is so temporary. I have been Eating Clean since September and have lost 25 pounds. You don't starve yourself! Actually, you eat more! Eat a lean protein, a complex carb, and a healthy fat every 3 hours. Stop eating processed foods and sugar. It is a lot easier than it sounds! I highly recommend it :)

If you aren't eating enough calories each day, you will feel sluggish and ill.  Your body has to have so many calories/day just to function and if you don't provide them, it will only get worse.  I don't understand your bp reading; do you mean 80/60?

If you aren't eating enough meat or other foods with both iron and vitamin B12, you could be anemic.  You should get both an iron panel and a vitamin B12 test.
