Whenever I have a craving for sweets, I have a tendency to just run to the grocery store and buy something, thus leading to guilt afterwards. Does anyone have any suggestions or tricks to not giving in to doing this? Thanks
Try doing something else, like going for a walk, reading a book, exercising, etc -- anything that will take your mind off wanting to eat. Or instead of sweets, try eating an apple, pear or other fruit. Fruit is sweet, but also has "good for you" fiber that will help fill you up and isn't just empty calories.
I hear that adding something sweet into your meals will reduce cravings after meals- something like raisins or grapes, figs or honey to a salad. Also I like to have little Tbsp portions of dried cranberries or other fruit on hand for cravings- Tbsp portions of dark chocolate chips helps for choc cravings!
