Master Cleanse isn't a diet. It's a colon cleanse. You shouldn't use it as a diet. I'd say start off small, make a few changes here and there. You've never really exercised you said so start off by taking a walk every day. Put the baby in a stroller and start walking around the block. Go a little further each week. Just changing your diet won't be enough. I've tried it! You have to add in exercise. Try to eat as natural as possible. Avoid the prepackaged foods. They're high in sodium, sometimes sugar and fat. Choose whole grain breads over white. Choose brown rice over white. Stay away from things that are high in the starches like the white bread, rice, corn. They can raise the blood sugar too high and then crash leaving you more hungry. Add fiber to your diet. The whole grains will help with that. Oatmeal made from scratch is good. Don't buy the prepackaged kind. They're high in sugar. Eat lean meats like chicken, fish, turkey. Stir fry veggies are good over brown rice. I buy the big bag of stir fry veggies (like the chinese, japanese or california blend) and stir fry in just a little olive oil and extra firm tofu. The tofu takes on the flavor of the veggies. It's pretty good, healthy and filling! Use whole wheat speghetti or better yet try butternut squash with tomato sauce. It tastes just as good as spaghetti! I like to split a whole wheat pita bread, put tomato sauce and oregano on, fresh veggies like mushrooms, peppers, onions and stick it in the oven till hot and bubbly. Tastes just like pizza! Stay away from fried and breaded things. Learn to grill or bake. It really does taste better when you get used to it. When eating saleds, try eating them with a little virgin olive oil and vinegar.
Just a few ideas. I hope any of it helps!
Whoops! I meant to say spaghetti squash instead of butternut squash (although the butternut is good at Thanksgiving!)
Also, I like to make fruit smoothies sometimes, usually in the Summer or when it's hot. I throw in the blender some frozen fruit, low-fat soy milk and sometimes protein powder or flax seed for energy.
I make this for breakfast a lot in the Summer when it's hot and I don't feel like eating anything.
Another good idea is to eat soup! It's very filling, healthy, usually low sodium and low fat. It's best to make it homemade, but it you do buy canned buy the low sodium, low fat. Don't buy the cream based soups! Healthy Choice has some good ones. Again, just a few ideas. If I think of any more, I'll let you know!
why haven't you eaten healthy or tried working out?
218 is too heavy for anyone, let alone a person your age.
Start with getting rid of all the unhealthy stuff in your house. Start with daily walks - yes, every day. Once you get out there it is easy, it's deciding to get out there that's the problem.
I think your weight issue is probably 95% a mental/emotional issue.
