Help! I need to do something to lose the weight.

I have finally had it! I am a 26 year old woman with three kids. My youngest is 2 1/2. So there is no reason for me to be at the weight that I am. I was in the army for 7 years, so after my first 2 were born I had no choice but to lose the weight. But now, its just me, and I haven't found the motivation to make me do it. I have to be careful with the exercises that I choose too, I have a back diability and arthritis in my right hip due to a previous injury. So right now I am just working on the diet part and hopefully soon I can find a workout routine that will work and not hurt.
So here's where I am at: I am 5'4" and about 175 lbs. I am the same weight now that I was at nine months pregnant. This is not acceptable.
I used to drink 6-8 cans of coke a day, and I never ate breakfast and rarely lunch. But my doctor said that I need to eat breakfast. So I have made a few changes. I cut the coke out of my diet entirely, now I drink water, milk, and fruit juice (mainly cranberry) I am trying to eat more breakfast (Total Raisin Bran) and a small lunch. I am really trying to make this work. I want to be able to have the energy to play with my kids this summer at the park. Last year I just watched and thats not right, I want to be WITH them.
Help! Does anyone have any suggestions or comments on what I am doing wrong, right, or not at all? Any help will be welcomed. Thank you in advance.

Starvation mode - that is exactly what my doc. said. I am so glad that I am not alone.
As for the coke, I have cut it out completely. I don't like the diet coke or coke zero. They taste funny. I was worried that I would have the caffiene withdrawl headaches like I always got, but so far so good. I am going a week and a half now and no caffiene headaches. I don't have as many cokes as before. I am down to any from 0-2 but usually it is only a half. They just don't appeal to me as much as before.
The only snacks I am having now are the 100 calorie snacks, so that way if I have 2 or 3 a day, then I don't feel quite as bad.  Not the best thought process but it is so much better than what I was doing.
So far I have lost 4 lbs. hopefully it just keeps coming off.

Well you have started out right! Stop drinking the regular coke, if you have to have a coke drink diet or coke zero. Eat breakfast, lunch and dinner and if you make them all small then add a snack about midday and one after lunch.

Your body probably went into starvation mode and retained everything you ate. You sound just like me three kids mid twenties and I was 181 but had been around 175 for the past 6 years. I gained weight after my second child and of course didn't lose it after my third.

Lets lose weight together!!
