Working Together!

Hi everyone! My name is Bri and I wanted to share my weight story. I am 25 years old and am a nutritional counselor. I was diagnosed with a severe form of Chron's disease last year, and was on steroids for an extended period of time. Steroids of course puts a ton of weight on you and I got up to 194 pounds, which for me at 5'8, is unheard of. I am getting married in August and am fully invested in getting back to my dream weight of 130 pounds. Everyday of course is a struggle, I am on a strict diet and fitness plan which is challenging enough on its own. Add in Chron's and it is even more difficult. Nobody wants to hit the gym when they are constantly sick and in pain. Yet everyday I am getting right back at it.

I know all of you have your own story,  I am just putting myself out there looking for people to talk to and support through their journey, and who will also support me through mine. God bless all of you and I am rooting for each and everyone of you!

Feel free to comment and share your email if you wish to communicate!

It's always easier to say "I don't want that", when it comes to eating fast food, pizza, chips, etc, than it is to say "I can't have that".  Saying "I don't want that" gives you control of your diet, instead of your diet controlling you.

Typically, when a craving hits, if you can hold off eating for 10 minutes, the craving will go away.  Another thing to remember is like Bri said - the pleasure from eating a food only lasts for a few minutes.  If you're going to eat that food - say a small piece of chocolate - you should sit down quietly and savor it; if you take time to really enjoy it, you'll feel much more satisfied than if you gulp down a great big piece that you barely took time to taste.

Here's a thread I posted a few days ago, so we could all kind of get to know each other... you're all free to post your situations on it, so others in the forum can get to know you...

Hey guys! Thanks for your support.

I agree everyone needs some cheats but I have a mantra that may help you guys too.
When you eat pizza or chips or whatever it only tastes good for a minute, then the food is gone and the pleasure is gone from eating it. I have found just saying no actually makes me feel better all the time because then I can say "great self control one step closer!"

Stay in touch :)

Hey girl I'll help support you its amazing you have the motivation after all that. I need something.  I will be the 29 in a couple weeks and I can't stay in shape like I used to all I do Is get fatter.  I eat really healthy for the most part.. everyone needs pizza or chips occasionally and I work out alot.. I'm on my feet at work all day and I'm just frustrated.  I used to have an eating disorder and now that I'm out of that I just feel fat. I'm 5'3 142.. I lost weight before my honeymoon in early fall I was 134 but put it all back on. I live in Buffalo so everyone just hibernates and gets fat in the winter and I'm mad I sunk into that. Maybe if I have motivation from strangers it can help i hope. Thanks all

You get my "Atta Girl" Bri.....
I know Chron's can kick your butt, but you gotta make this your job. You can't quit now. I'd be thrilled to become one of your cheerleaders.
