It's always nice to have people to talk to...I lost 26 lbs last year by cutting out bread, pasta, etc and adding in more healthy fats like avocado, olive and coconut oils, butter, whole milk, etc. Different things work for different people. My A1c had been in the pre-diabetic range, but I lowered it to normal. I've kind of fallen off the wagon and gained back some weight, plus my cholesterol went up; they didn't do an A1c last time, so I'm not sure what that was.
Good for you taking charge! Depending on what type of phone you have and your comfort level with technology, there are many fitness and health apps where you can find buddies and communities for motivation. Just a thought!
