Another great place to ask is the pharmacy. There is plan b that is timing specific but another pill method that doctors prescribe. It's good to recognize when motherhood is not something you want to. Abortions by the way are not that expensive and most clinics have a sliding scale of payment to where it can be completely free if someone has very little income. They don't want cost to ever be prohibitive to an abortion and will work with women on that. Just FYI
But you are not at that point. I do believe you are still in the zone of being able to use the pill method to terminate. your pharmacist will provide info and certainly a doctor on Monday. usually you will have something that is similar to a period and then be irregular after that for up to two or so months so will need to be very careful about using protection such as condoms as you won't know when you'll ovulate again.
good luck hon and ask me any questions you might have. here to help.
Plan b doesnt terminate pregnancy, only makes it hard for the egg and sperm to meet. I only know of abortions. They are uncomfortable but get the job done. Rather expensive too...$500+
Here they let u take thr abortion pill uo 2 14w ..if ur already 8w the plan b pill will not work..I haf a convo with my dr about the abortion pill and an actual abortion when I goy pregnant with thr baby I'm pregnant with now .obviously I decided 2 keep my baby..However at the time I would have much rather had an actual abortion instead of the pill cuz of the pain..and maybe seeing the passed emryo...just my opinion..an actual abortion is ovet much quicker and with sedatives .. good luck..sorry 2 hear ur going thru thid
I bought the abortion pills offline about a year ago. I just Googled it and found the one with the best reviews on it. It wasnt really painful just like a more intense period cramp and heavy bleeding. However it did get painful once I had to pass the afterbirth... I was 9 weeks so maybe it'll be different for u
I never had the the pill. They warmed me about the pain and how long it would last, so I opted out for the procedure. It was quick and painless. I was home within 2 hours but the procedure itself only took 5 min. Slept for the rest of the day and continued my daily routine the next. Maybe you can ask your doctor about this option and consider it.
I'm sorry you have to even go through this keep your head up and know that you are doing the right thing if it will be bad for you both good luck and I love your reply to @MrsReynolds_2......
Thank you ladies for your answers I'll keep all this in mind when consulting my doctor on Tuesday
The only pills I know of are the ones Knufrio mentioned. One cuts down your progeston (sp) levels and the other makes the baby come out. Some places give you medication for the pain but once you take the first pill there is no turning back whether you take the second round of medication or not the baby will come out. You do risk getting an infectiona so yoj must take the antibiotics they perscribe. Good luck.
WOW ladies I'm so heart broken to hear what you guys go through, I know it's your decision and decisions are made for a reason. Scarletbegoniass wish you all the best.
I did this years ago to terminate a pregnancy. I had the misoprostol and mifepristone. I do not regret my decision, however it was the most pain I've ever experienced in my life. I had three full days of absolutely horrible contractions (they warn you beforehand that some women who have had kids and done it, say it can even be worse than labor). They do give meds for the pain, unfortunately they made me so sick I couldn't take them. I chose the pills because I didn't want to have surgery and I wanted to be able to be in the comfort of my own home. It's definitely tough, especially because you may be able to see when you pass the embryo. I was 6 wks and 4 days when I did it.
There are a few different ones. I am not sure which she had. Carboprost, Dinoprostone, Mifepristone, and Misoprostol are a few . (I only know because I just went through pharmacy tech school)
The morning after pill works within 72hrs of taking it but best before 48hrs!!! You will need to get a test done and from there speak to you Dr about your choices, good luck I can imagine it would not be easy what ever decision you make
C_woody91 thank you for your comment and it is helpful. Do you by any chance know the name of the medication they use during the procedure?
My sister in law used it because her or the baby would not survive the birth due to extreme bone abnormalities, it worked for her and she was about 4 months. She did not have any complications after other than depression which was kind of expected. I wish you the best and hopefully this helps a little.
Okay. If I am pregnant do I have the option for a d&c even though I am not miscarrying?
My doctor told me that the pill is not always affective in getting everything out and you could get a infection
D&C is more safe
Thank you. I will ask my doctor about this and see if it has the possibility of working more than 48 hours after.
I know they have the morning after pill or plan b. I think is what it is called but it only works up to 48 hours after sex.
