Antibiotics and your cycle?

Does anyone know if antibiotics can mess up your menstrual cycle? Up until a week and a half a go I was on antibiotics for a UTI and just yesterday I noticed spotting which I thought was weird because it's pretty rare for me to have breakthrough bleeding. Now today it looks like it could be my full-on period. But I'm not due for my period again until the end of next week. So it's a full two weeks early.
I know antibiotics can mess with the effectiveness of your birth control (which I am on but was careful and used back-up during the antibiotic courses) but can it also change your cycle around?
