Had my Mirena IUD removed

Had it removed 4 weeks ago exactly due to terrible problems from it. I wont post my story unless you want to know. Last week I had pain on my left ovary and today pain on my right. Its almost like a pinching feeling. Leads me to believe it (they) are cysts. When I normally am not on BC I have 28 day cycle. But not sure what to think since just having the IUD removed. Anyone have experience with this ?

I have had my IUD a little shy of 5years. I have NOT had any problems. No periods, no cramps or anything I swore by the Mirena, until now....  I chose to replace it early with my annual exam. They tired to take it out and it didn't come out. the doctor gave me some medication to soften my cervix to help get it out and scheduled me to come back the next day. At this point I am thinking it will come out no problem... WRONG!!! After 2 different doctors (1 female first, 1 male 2nd) pulled 2 -3 times each no luck.Which is soooo freaking painful. The male doctor with his last tug broke a piece of the IUD. Sad thing is first thing he says is this isn't a Mirena... Are you sure its a Mirena, he asks me. Yep thats what they said I was getting 4.5 years ago... Uhoh!!! So now that half of the IUD is still stuck and I am now scheduled for surgery next week but now I have this overwhelming concern about what the hell the doctors put in me in the first place. Please everyone please be careful and just make sure you are getting the correct birth control you requested. Take care everyone! Please don't let your friends get any IUD's who cares what the name is. DO NOT DO IT!!!!

I had the mirena put in after the birth of my second child on October 26, 2010. The last two weeks or so I have been itching non-stop with hives all over my body. I'm beginning to think it is because of the mirena. Has anyone else experienced this? And how long does it take to go away once the mirena is removed?

I just had my IUD removed 3 weeks ago. No one told me about the after affects other than a normal period. I wanted to go on a form of birth control that I could take out if that week my BF and I wanted to start trying instead of having to wait for a Dr. appointment which could take weeks. The nurse practitioner told me that I needed to insert the Nuva ring after 4 days of my first period. Since I had no clue as to when my period would start because the Mirena messed my cycle so bad, I planned that I would 'clean out' and then my second period I would put the Nuva ring in. Well, I have my first period and OMG!!!! I feel like I am delivering the afterbirth for the past 3 days! I have clots the size of bananas coming out of me! I go through a super tampon and a super pad in an hour! Is this normal after 4 years of 'build up' in my uterus? I am starting to feel more tired than I should. I don't want to put the Nuva ring up there if I have this much stuff up there that should come out right? Does any one know what I am talking about?

I have had the Merina in for over a year and have had NO problems.  i am 43. I dont have a period either!! My friend also has one and she has had no problems.  I have a co worker that just got hers taken out after 2 years and 3 weeks later she was pregnant with their 2nd child. I completely recommend the Mirena.  I am sorry others are having bad luck but it has been a breeze for me.
