How long is your cycle. The average is 28 days with ovulation around day 14. But this is an average. Some womenWomen's way with a 28 day cycle may ovulate on day 16 or day 12. It's individual.
If you have a longer than average cycle you would generally ovulate about 14 days before your period is due.

For this you may want to get an ovulation thermometer or a digital one and chart your temperature for a month or two. Then after ovulation your temperature stays up till just before your period and then it drops again.
Another sign is your cervical mucous. It goes from being thick, opaque and scant to copious, thin, clear and stringy (when you pull it between 2 fingers) when you ovulate.
