Ingrown Hair or something else...?

A few days ago I noticed a lump around around where my pubic hair starts. At first I thought it was a zit or something because it popped a bit and bled a little(sort of had a little pus but mostly blood) There was never a white head on it or anything though. Well it doesn't drain anymore and the scab or whatever healed over. But the lump is still there. It's about an inch and a half long and the thickness(around) as a #2 pencil. It's hard too.

So like I said, I thought it was a zit and the swelling would go down but it's not. It doesn't really hurt unless i put a little pressure on it, and then it just feels like pushing on a bruise. I asked my mom and she said it was probably an ingrown hair, or a boil or whatever. But I haven't shaved down there in months(and the hair had already grown back) so it's not an ingrown hair, and there wasn't any kind of sore so it wasn't a boil.

Should I wait a few days and see if it goes down or what?

Sounds a little too big to be an ingrown hair and if it was indeed an ingrown hair you would see a hair in there when you pop it. I would wait a few days and if it doesn't get better you may want to get it checked.
