itchy burny skin around vagina

I have itchy burny skin on the outside of my vagina.  I don't have this problem all time mostly after sex and around my period.  I don't have any discharge or foul smell.  I did use 3 day monistat cream a couple of weeks ago.  Is it possible it is a yeast infection that the 3 day cream didn't take care of.  Or could it just b  hormonal thing.  Anyone else have this problem.
Thanks

I don't shave there just keep it trimmed up.  I wasn't sure if it was a yeast thing or maybe just jock itch, soap etc... thanks for the comment

Hi Jr, You have not said if your shaved on not? so if I take it you are then it could be washing poweders or other fabic conditiners, could be the soap or shower gels,, try just using baby soaps for down there, try some natural yogurts, good one, twice daily, and this you do need to be shaved for, if you think you need to shave only shave downwards never up, or you will have more problems.
See how you go.
Good Luck
