Pains and bleeding after d and c

Hi there, I started spotting on the 2nd of march 2013 on and off till march 12th 2013. On march 13th I started to bleed. On march 19th I went to the GP because I was bleeding more. He gave me Provera 10 mg for 10 days to stop the bleeding. Provera did not stop the bleeding. As a matter of fact when I took Provera I was bleeding more. So on the 26th of march I went again to the GP who immediatly refered me to the ob/gyn. The ob/gyn made a vaginal ultrasound and concluded that my endometrium was to thick. According to the ob/gyn she could do 2 things for me. 1. She could put me on a higher dose of Provera 30 mg 3 times a day with the chance for a d and c. Or she could perform a d and c on thursday the 28th of march. So I decided for the d and c. Today is my 5th day after the d and c. I bleed like a menstruation but every morning I have this terrible cramps, pain in my lower abdomen and pain in my lower back. When I have these pains I bleed more. Is this normal? Can someone tell me how much pain and bleeding I can expect? This was my first d and c. Thanks. Amethyst.
