Why is my vagina tingling?

Hi, I went to the doctors last friday because I was nervous of having an STD. My doctor said everything looked totally fine. I however was having random on and off tingling throughout the day. She said it was genital herpes... and that it was a sign I was exposed. but  I dont really understand that because I dont have any blisters and its still going on. Plus  I got a blood test and it was negative (.9 the nurse said I was fine and she was sure I didnt have it since I got tested 6 weeks after possible exposure) I have had this random tingling for about two weeks now, along some discomfort from my inside vagina...its hard to explain its like I feel something. I also have a little tender ness around the hole of my vagina especially when i touch it. The tingling can be in a specific spot but is mostly generalized. I also have had a some bit of cramping (feels like my period cramps) and some right hip/lower right back pain... not very consistent though. I was wondering has anyone else experienced this? Could this actually be herpes? or another STD? Why is this happening? Pls any information or inside would be amazing and greatly appreciated. I am very confused, worried and unknowledgeable. I dont know if I should really be trusting my GYNO who said it was herpes...because it doesn't seem like it, but I also dont know what it could be. Thank you.

Other than a blood test for herpes, what kind of testing did you have done? Any other STD testing? Testing for yeast or bacterial vaginitis? If you don't know, you should call your doctor and ask for specific testing that they did.

It doesn't sound like herpes at all, and your blood test supports that. You could have a pinched nerve, an infection like bacterial vaginitis, a urinary tract infection, or any number of things.

Your gyno sounds a bit flaky, to be honest, and shouldn't be diagnosing herpes based on symptoms, but on lab tests (especially such vague symptoms). If you don't trust her, find another doc. If you are in the US, you might try Planned Parenthood. They do STD testing and are really good with other women's health issues.

Good luck!
