Yaz and side effects and benefits

I was told that Yaz is a new birth control pill.  I am used to 7 days of placebo pills rather than only 4.  Is Yaz's concentration any different from the common birth control pills? Is it like saying just taking longer birth control pills?  What are the side effects?  What are the benefits?  Has FDA approved?  Where i can search more about Yaz?  Will it affect my future plan of having a healthy pregnancy?  Also, i was told if i do want to get pregnant, i should wait 6 months after taking the birth control pills.  is that true?

Hi Everybody

Im 21 and have been on Yaz for 5months
I am so happy that i came across this site, i actually cried!!! (nothing new)
I've been having really bad headaches as well, also behind my eyes and temples. I've been so rude to everybody, its like i just don't care. I fight with everyone. I was never like this before
I am a non smoker, gym 3 times a week and have felt so lifeless and tired.
I also have the dizzyness and blurry eyesight.
Last night was the Last time i took that pill, NEVER AGAIN!
I live in South Africa & i have not seen any of these adverts on TV about Yaz? Why are the pharmacies still selling it then?
I just want to thank everybody for their posts, I already feel alot less depressed :)

Really glad I found this. I'm 15 years old and started Yaz to get rid of TERRIBLE cramps and moderate acne. My first month was fine on yaz, I gained a few pounds- but nothing terrible. About halfway through the second month is where I started noticing the side effects: really tired, depressed at times, extreme mood swings, really cranky all the time, and dizziness. I'm now halfway through my third month and things are still the same. I'm getting really sick of being unmotivated and depressed all the time. Sorry to scare all those considering Yaz. On the plus side, I went up a cup size, my cramps have gotten a lot better, my period is a lot lighter and my skin is a LOT better! If you're willing to deal with a few annoying side effects- I'd definitely recommend it.

Hey I had the same problem with the pill. Changed to natural methods a fertility computer. First I was very skeptical now I love it. I am using the Lady-Comp its a contraception computer which tells you exactly when you can get pregnant and when not. You measure every morning your BBT under the tongue. Accuracy is 0.7 pearl index which is a lot and I use it now since a while and love it. I understand my body now and I finally dont have any side effects anymore. - My husband loves it too because I finally have a sex drive again :).
