bladder pressure, frequent urination...ovarian symptoms?

I have had reoccurant uti like symptoms for a few months..all my cultures show no infection just white blood cells..I've seen a urologist who did a bladder ultrasound and cystoscopy both normal..I saw my gyn who did a pelvic ovaries were normal..he did not give me a ultrasound though..should I persue further testing since this could be a symptom of ovarian cancer? I am 30yr..also I did have a pelvic ultrasound 6 moths ago for something else and my ovaries were normal size.

I too have had UTI symptons, but when I went to the doctor for a culture, there was no bacteria found. They did a test to rule out gonohrea (sp?) and clamydia, but that too came out negative. It seems that any time I have sex, I am getting these UTI-like symptoms. I'm not sure what else to do, I'm on CIPRO right now. Any ideas??

I have the same symptoms as you and Renie.  Always have cultures that come back normal.  Been to a urologist and he has no idea.  One suggestion though.  When I have symptoms, I take Uristat, an over the counter medicine for the UTI symptoms.  They go away for a few weeks or a month.  But at least I am not taking the antibiotics all the time now.  That worried me becasue you do not want to get immune to the antibiotics.  So maybe try the Uristat instead of the Cipro next time.  I would LOVE to find the answer to this problem too.

my 16 yr old daug has same problem recurrent uti they need to culture your urine to know for sure if u have a true uti. They did a cystocopy said the texture of her bladder was rough looking but the raidoligist still didnt think she had interstecial cycstitias (sorry i don't think i spelled it right) Its called I.C. for short. She was admitted in the hospital and Dr Hibner @ St.Joesph's IN Arizona said he diagnosis I.C. in a different way than the radioligst do. He is a pelvic pain specialist and inserted sodium pottasium into the bladder and told my daug if it brings on the same type of pain pressure than thats how they diagnosos I.C. and said she had it.Her symptoms are a feeling like she has to urinate and even when she does she still feels like she has a full bladder. the pressure from not being able to relieave hurts. She is on pain med's to help until we can find a answer but if it is I.C. they say there is no cure. She gets injections at the pelvic pain office through her urietha . The medicen in the cocktail (they call it) is supposed to help by bringing down inflamiation. She also talked elmerion but its not working yet this has been going on for 10 months now I'm starting to think maybe there is something else going on Im going to rule out bladder cancer and have them do a abdominal laporoskyto also rule out endemetreosis . She also has been treated and diagnosed with severe migraines and is on topomax. She was nausa and vomiting for 6 months straight anywhere from 4-6 times a day straight. Shes been through so much  at such a young age any info would help . I hope this helps all of you as well.

Im so sorry to hear about your daughter's discomfort! Have you had her checked for endometriosis and/or fibroids? Also, the nausea, migraines, fatigue, etc, are indications of hormone imbalance and anemia. Are her periods heavy? If so, she may have fibroids and/or endometriosis. How is her diet? Is she eating or drinking anything that may be causing her bladder to inflame? Is her life very stressful? It all comes back to how she is dealing with stress in her life...in school, at home, during hobbies, etc...When a person does not have the proper tools to deal with stress in a healthy way, their body reacts by getting sick in some way...
How does she feel about sex and losing her virginity? There is evidence that having negative feelings and thoughts about sex can cause gynocological health problems...it's the body's way of coping with negative thoughts about a particular thing that makes us feel uncomfortable.
I look forward to hearing back from you...
Please keep in mind that every physical symptom we have corresponds to something emotional going on in our life...something we may not even be aware of!

I also have had an extreme pressure in my bladder with a normal urine analysis.  My doctor stated that there are several urinary tract irritants that may have caused it.  Caffeine, calcium, citruses, and alcohol.  Good luck ladies, I feel your pain.

Just curious, if the ultrasound for an ovarian cyst comes back positive do you know if there is anything that they can do to stop the bladder pressure/frequent urination?  Have you talked with your GYN or urologist about what (if any) treatments exist for the cysts?  Thanks.

I have bloating, I look like I am pregnant, frequent urination, pressure in my abdomen, lower back pain, extreme fatigue and pain during intercourse. What could this be. My doctor kept giving me medication for urinary tract infection.

Get an appointment with a GYN/Onocologist,  get a TVUS, a CA125, a good internal pelvic exam,  many of your symptoms are for OVCA yes, but they also are the signs of endo. fibroids, ovarian cysts and many other causes.

What are other causes. Should this be something I should be worried about. I just haven't felt like my self. I am also very irritable. I feel sorry for my family for me being this way but I just don't feel great. What is your opinion.

Has anyone ever consider interstitial cystitis?

No I have not considered interstitial cystitus. I don't even know what that is. I went to the doctor back in June. They took blood and did a urine test. Then they called me and said urinary tract infection. They prescribed me with anitbiotics. I felt better. Then I went back after a month and they said Urinary Tract infection again and again. This other doctor said I never had UTI but he doesn't know what is wrong. This is all I am going on. I am worried it is the worst. I have an appointment with my gynocologist.

I am really posting this to all of you that have had complaints concerning frequent unrination.  No infections are found.  I have had bladder pressure for at least a year. I have been to a GYN, Urologists, primary care physicians, you name it I have seen them.   I have had kidney stones removed, laproscopic surgery (nothing abnormal) and a cystopy (spelling).    I was actually hoping that the Lap would indicate that they had found something wrong so they could fix it. My GYN seems to think our next step is to remove the uterus, I just don't see how this can help.  I am past child bearing age so I do need it, I just don't want to go through another procedure with no results. I  am depressed, tired, and dealing with the pressure 24/7 is exhausting and I am beginning to think that the doctors believe I am faking it or that it is all in my head.  Have any of you gotten any answers to your symptoms.  I am now grasping at straws I want to be able to take something to my doctor and let him know that I am not the only one who has these symptoms.  I can't take motrin or aleve and the doctor's answer is to give me prescription pain medicine.  Any help would be so much appreciated.

I am sorry but I have no help for you. I have just started with these symptom probably June or before of this year. This is all new to me. I am almost 30 but I feel like I am 60. I went to the doctor because my lower back gets to hurting. They have me come and pee in a cup. Well I seen a different doctor he said was not urinary tract infection but he doesn't know what and said I never had urinary tract infection. Still no answers. But I got on the internet and was looking up stuff and seen I had symptoms of ovarian cancer. But I am worrying myself sick. I can't get to the OB/GYN until November. They are not concerned. But I have pain during intercourse, My stomach is swelled. I look like I am 6 months pregnant. I have not ever been this big other than when I am pregnant. I have pressure in my abdomen that comes and goes and the lower back pain that comes and goes. I am very tired and grouchy. I just don't feel like myself. I have three kids that I have to keep up with and It is just not working. I don't know what to do either. I feel like I am going crazy.

I feel like we are talking about the same thing.  If it makes you feel any better, I did have the laporscopic surgery and they ruled out ovarian cancer and the doctor told me that with ovarian cancer you don't usually have such pain.  I saw in a earlier post that someone mentioned interstitial cystitus, I looked it up on the internet and it does sound a lot like what I am experiencing.  Take a look and let me know what you think.  I know what you mean about worry, my biggest thing is I am starting to think that people think I am exaggerating or faking.  My husband is very understanding but I think he is growing tired of the whole thing.  I have been going through this for over a year now and it is starting to cause mental depression, I have even made statements like "I'm done" or "I really want to go  to sleep and never wake up".  I don't really think I would really go through with anything.  I go to work everyday and work 8-9 hours and come home and collapse from the exhaustion of dealing with the pain and pressure all day.  I hope you don't mind me going off like this but I think it helps to know someone understands what I am going through.  Good luck to you.

Could abdominal adhesions cause these bladder issue?

I have had bladder pressure for a few days now. I urinate frequently, but it's on and off. Sometimes I'm afraid to get off the toilet for hours, and other times it doesn't bother me for a day or two. Also, when I do urinate I feel a discomfort. Not a burning, but almost like a dull pain. Well, intense discomfort. And it doesn't go away; the awareness is there as a constant.

What could it be?

I have had the UTI like symptoms off and on for years with negative cultures.  It got so bad last year that I went to a pelvic pain specialist after years of going to ob/gyns or urgent care for antibiotics constantly.  I also had all the tests for IC and they were all negative.

During a ultrasound on my bladder, they found two (one on each side) 5 cm ovarian cysts.  During the surgery to remove these, they found stage 4 advanced endometriosis with severe adhesions.  The uterus had prolapsed and become attached to the intestines by scar tissue/adhesions. The cystoscopy done during surgery showed a slightly rough surface in the bladder but nothing remarkable.  I had no idea about the endo or the cysts.  Never had pain or discomfort or anything except the UTI symptoms.

I had surgery to remove the cysts, adhesions, a uterine suspension and , forget what its called, moving and encasing the ovaries.

All of this to say, after the surgery the dr put me on Bactrim DS twice a day for 10 days and then once a day for a month.  I had no trouble for months after that.  Since then (last May), I have had 2 UTI-ish episodes but that is amazing for me.  I think the extra long course of Bactrim is what helped the most.  Some drs are hesitant to do this.  Several told me they were worried about me building up resistance.  I was in such pain I wasnt worried about resistance.  I needed relief.

Im not saying this will work for everybody but it was my experience when I was desperate for anything to help.  I wanted to post my experience in case it might help someone else with these problems.  I searched and searched for anyone going through the same as me and found nothing.

I was wondering if you had any blood in urine (microscopic) as well? I have same symtoms and just starting w/doctors and tests, and looking for answers! Also, did you have any back pain, etc??

I had frequent and urgent urination but no blood.  I would keep going in to get tested for a bladder infection but never had one.  I think it would be rare to have blood except in a very advanced case and you would likely have several symptoms at that point.  Usually, the tumor just puts pressure on the bladder.  I did have back pain but it was crampy and I could feel it through to my front.  Please follow up with a gyn if you have concerns.  A transvaginal ultrasound is the best way to screen for an ovarian mass.  IYou may want to "post a question" at the top as this is added to an old post and may not get answered the same way new posts do.  Best wishes

I have had many UTIs and I'm only 20 years old.  Doctors would just give me the medication whenever I told them bc I got them so often. I don't know what I get them, I'm a clean person and try not to do anything that would trigger them.  Recently I have felt a ton of pressure on my bladder, I'm very tired, I'm bloated every day , I urinate all the time.  Sometimes I go days without drinking anything just see if I go, and I still go a million times a day.  I can't sleep at night because I'm always up running to the bathroom.  Also, after intercourse I feel like I have a UTI, but I no I don't because it does away after a few.  I have an appt with a specialist in a month but I can't wait that long.  Any ideas?

It could be a bladder infection, but I'm learning as well that there are so many different causes of all these same symptoms. I have all those symptoms and more, and have microscopic blood in urine, but no bacteria, so it's not an infection, but could be many different things, just make sure you do get in w/a doctor, maybe even try a reg. physician first to get in sooner and rule out infection or get meds for it! In the mean time you could take uristat or azo to relieve some pain, that's all they've told me to do for now! Good luck!
