Spotting brown blood two weeks after period...

I had a normal period about two weeks ago and then about 3 days ago, I started spotting brown blood.  The spotting is very light (which is very unusual for me), and a little smelly.  I'm 39 years old and have a history of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and had chemotherapy almost 3 years ago.  My periods came back a few months after I finished chemo and for the most part have been pretty normal except for a couple of months where I would have two in a month.  I've read that spotting brown blood right before starting your period is normal and is just expelling old blood, but is it still normal mid month?  Is three days of brown blood too long?

Thank you for your answer.  The day after I posted this, I started my regular period (fresh blood and heavy as usual).  I didn't mark down when I had my previous period, but I think it was about 2 weeks prior.  I'm going to start keeping better track of it and consult with my doctor if I continue to have issues.  Thanks again.

Hi,
You are right; this can be old collected blood. However this can also be because of local causes like cervical erosion or polyps etc. Hence an internal examination and pap smears should be done to be on the safe side. Consult your Doctor.
Hope this helps.
