I am 40 yrs old, i have been diagnosed last march of having cervical polyp & my left ovary has been infected. & it also seen at the ultrasound that my pallopian tube has been bloated. i asked for 1-3rd opinions from different ob-gyne but only one recommendation they gave only hysterectomy. I was very hesitant coz i still wanted to have a child for 2nd time. Indeed, i was operated only to remove my polyp by d&c. When i got my biopsy result, my doctor told me that i have hormonal imbalance. My estrogen is higher than my progesterone so she told me i will be under medication for 6 mos. She gave progesterone(UTRAGESTAN ²00 mg) to be taken up 16 days after my first period for 12 days. & she said if i will not take it i get bleed. How come i got a very high estrogen? What caused of it? Will it be ok for me not to remove my ovaries? If not, will i still get pregnant?
Increased estrogen levels are found even in menstrual cycle. Other than that, they can be found in hyperthyroidism, liver disorders and Tumors of the ovary, testes, or adrenal gland. Get your thyroid hormone levels and liver function tests done. If the symptoms persist then get it evaluated from a gynecologist.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
