Hi there.  Well, unless it is a suppository, the ability for it to be absorbed would not be there.  You may have inserted it but it did nothing.  Medications have delivery systems (how it is absorbed by body to do it's job) and unless it is designed to be used rectally, it will not work.

There are other ways to adminster oral medication rather than taking pills.  Pharmacists can help with this.  sometimes there is a liquid option.

But you can not place an oral tablet in the rectum and have it work.  it just flat out won't.
good luck

Yes, it works just as well as taking it orally. We used to do it with our older folks that could not swollow their medications.

Why do you want to?  Are you having trouble taking them orally?  Call your doc and see if something can be done (such as possibly antibiotics in a shot?) if you need to take it.

You could but it wouldn't do anything.  it's a systemic tablet and not a suppository.  good luck
