vulva hot, stinging and burning

Hi,

I'm posting here because I really am at my wits end and hope maybe peple will have some suggestions as to what is going on with me! For the past year, I have been experiencing burning and stinging in my vulva (which is NOT made worse by peeing), which comes and goes but can last for over a month and is extremely uncomfortable. The area looks normal, and there is no unusual discharge. The last time I had these symptoms was in March - they came on suddenly with a stinging sensation, and lasted for 6 weeks. During this time, I was tested for all STDs (all negative), tested for bacterial infections (negative) and treated repeatedly for thrush (even though all lab tests came back negative). Eventually, the symptoms eased on their own. I dont use chemical irritants etc so dont think thats the problem. My symptoms returned 5 weeks ago - again, all tests are negative, I was treated again for thrush (no relief, and lab test came back negative).

Could the repeated topical thrush treatment have made things worse? Also, I've heard of conditions called lactobacilliosis and cytolytic vaginosis (overgrowth of lactobacilli). My symptoms do not appear to be related to my menstrual cycle - there is no particular pattern - but could overgrowth of lactobacilli still be my problem? I would like to hear from anyone who has suffered from lactobacilli overgrowth.

Sorry for the long post but I really would appreciate some advice!

I think this issues are due to liver not able to handle food correctly. Get your SGPT and SGOT blood tests done. If they are high, you can take LIV52 DS  and see the results.

I've read through all of these posts and find it comforting to know I'm not the only one going through this frustration.  I also find it disheartening that there is no definitive "cure".  I'm 30 years old and have been dealing with the burning, itching and hot "sensation" that has been described on this thread since September 2012  - three months before my wedding.  Ugh.   On top of the symptoms mentioned, sex is uncomfortable and I normally bleed during and after for a few days.  I am currently with my 5th GYN, tested negative for all STDs, BV, yeast, etc., etc.  multiple times.  My current GYN has me on a small amount of Estrace dauil with a 3G dose once a week.  I'm also taking a topical Estrodiol compound daily.   I have felt some relief but the symptoms are on again, off again.  I HAVE gotten relief from the night sweats I have suffered from for the past few years - which is fantastic.  I really just want some answers and something to relieve my issues for good.  It has significantly hurt me and my husbands sex life - I just want to be back to Normal.  As an aside,  I was diagnosed with MRKH when I was 16 - no uterus, but do have (apparently semi-functioning) ovaries which could explain the hormone imbalance.  Thank you all for your posts...it truly does help to know that I'm not the only frustrated one!  I'll keep you all in my prayers and look forward to furtur posts!

Ubertrecker, you're post was years ago but I've read and read about thus vulva itching burning sting.  When you wrote the post I'm replying to, you had a wet washcloth with frozen veggies in it.  Today I have a frozen water bottle between my legs as I have had for the past two weeks.  All tests are "normal" but I am miserable 24-7.

I can't sleep through the night and I'm useless around the house.  I cannot leave the house because I cannot tolerate the stinging and itching.  I wonder if you've ever recovered.  Do you have any advice?  When reading the comments, one can see that we are not all suffering from the same thing but you described me perfectly.  I get no relief whatsoever. I am perfectly miserable.  I will continue reading and hope that I hear from you.  Robyn

yes to all of the above burning sensation with added constant need to urinate. Went to Docs was tested for STI's all negative had 2 UTI tests also negative. Just looked up the contraceptive pill I'm on to see side effects as symptoms ease for short intervals during the evening. This pill was prescribed for Menopausal symptoms as had hysterectomy two years ago (still have ovaries) The pill I'm on is qlaira and listed for the uncommon and rare side effects are candida infection, fungal infections of the vulva and vagina, vaginal infection... Rare side effects are Urinary tract infection, bacterial inflammation of the vagina, oral herpes, pelvic inflammatory disease... I have had this for 4 weeks now and am stopping this pill right away...I have been on this pill for 4 months, like others the first month was fab... but not feeling so fantastic thereafter...I'll come back to you in a week and let you know if all has cleared up.... errghh who'd be a woman!

I've been to several doctors including uroligist. I'm seeing specialist obgyn now. Cultures all come back negitive and I can see by all the other posts that this is most likely hopeless. Just hoping someone else has had some luck with some type of treatment. I had track infection and also yeast but everything is neg now and still have the burning. Totally hoepless feeling. Usually starts out not so bad in the morning but just continues to get worse all day as I sit at my desk. If anyone as found any treatments that have helped for them would love to hear from you.
