nightmare!!!

I was diagnosed yesterday! I thought I had IBC. Does this increase my risk of IBC? I went to the Pink Lotus in Beverly Hills. They do Chinese medicine- of course they have me starting steroids first. Does anyone have any suggestions for me.Jeannette

Hi Jeanette:

Were you diagnosed by biopsy?  Are you confident in your IGM diagnosis.  Have you been tested for TB, or other known causes for GM, just as precaution.  Have you been prescribed any front-line antibiotic?

Are your doctors aware of the use of methotrexate in combo with prednisone, or alone to treat IGM and the pros and cons of this approach.

Do you need references to the latest medical info that is published - do they?

I would just suggest you arm yourself with as much info as you can at this stage.  Prednisone is a tricky drug...there are books and other self-help resources for methods of coping with the likely side effects - you many want to make sure you have some plan in place before you begin the treatment, to make you as comfortable as you can be.

Let us know any questions.

Best wishes for an easy healing for you.
