I agree with Andiamo1 that you're one of my inspirations that you have been through so much and have such a great attitude. It's the people like you that make me want to come here and enourage others to fight the 'good fight' and overcome the battle against this virus. And you have beat the 1B and I forget that sometimes and that is something to celebrate. You have time as you don't have the damage that some of us have so advanced that it's now or never. I pray that you will find the cure you need and that this cure will happen for me too. Blessings!
Susan, I am sad that you didn't get into a Riba arm with a better chance of SVR, but I am not sad for you. You are one of my heroes. Your attitude in the face of another failure is remarkable and I hope that I can have a small percentage of that if I fail treatment. I also failed 7 prior times to this. Although, I am a relapser, not a non responder.
I am sure that you will achieve your goal in the near future.
I am so happy for you Hope! Both of you, Hope and Adiamo, I appreciate that you had me in your thoughts.....but I also don't want to be having anybody feel sadness feelings. I have gotten past my feeling down in the dumps over it. Yes, I was really disappointed, but I knew that it was just a chance for me and that there might end up being this result, since I knew that I had been having this time of non-response and numerous treatments before. It's just that I have a very big resistance built up. I understand that, logically. Anyhow, please don't feel bad when you have good news to report! Some day, I'll have some good news, too. Remember, I had good news when I lost one of my genotypes! My 1B is history! Now I just have 1A to contend with. Adiamo, I hope you get a good report, too!
Susan
I am wishing you the best of luck on this trial. So far so good, keep us posted..Hugs :)shelly
The 12 week visit has a blood test that will determine if you continue with the trial as does week 4.
The criteria for these tests are vague and I suspect changed recently, but no one has told me the specifics. I was told that I will know by week 14 if I am still in the trial.
I think the criteria for week 12 is undetectable, but it might be a two log drop. I heard that the criteria for week 4 has changed from 1 log to undetectable, but no official confirmation on that. If that is the case, it would make no sense to leave week 12 at a 2 log drop.
Tell me about the 12 week gate? I'm not familiar (haven't read consent in a while) but undestand that the 5 week gate is the main one to continue in study but may need an update to my understanding on that? Do you have a risk of not continuing after that if your results are less than optimal?
Thanks ahead for your insight!
Congratulations on your success. I too spend a lot of time thinking about Susan and hoping that a solution appears in the near future for people that have breakthrough.
I have taken my 12 week blood test and I am waiting to find out if I pass. I believe I will, but there is always some uncertainty.
I am happy for you and glad to hear that your sx is not too bad. Mine are dreadful - the worst I have ever experienced. I used to think that interferon and Riba alone were horrible. This experience has given new meaning to "horrible".
What a relief! I've been on pins and needles... and so happy to see this... this gives a lot of "HOPE" to many... Libby
Way to go, I'm so happy for you...
Good luck for continued success...you deserve it!

I cleared during SOC tx at 28 weeks and relapsed at 3 months after 48 weeks. I wish i knew how much I dropped as I don't have access to any of the data for this as it's not available until week 24. I tx'ed INT only in '96 and did 48 weeks of SOC and finished last Sept. I seemed to drop at about 2/3 every 4 weeks until I cleared at 28 weeks.I too feel blessed to be in this study and believe that it will help many people and is the nearest thing to a 'cure' at this point. Thanks for your words of encouragment and good luck to you as well!
Congratulations on your good news! I was thrilled when I passed my 4 week test also. I only treated one other time and did not have a 1 log drop at the 4 week mark last time. I discontinued treatment when I did not have a 2 log drop at 13 weeks. I go in a week from tomorrow for my big 12 week appt. I also feel bad about those that were unable to get the 4 week, 1 log drop. At what point the last time you treated did you become undetectable? I'd be curious to know at what point the relapsers in Prove 3 became undetected on previous treatments.
I also feel blessed to be in this trial and feel certain this is going to be the answer for everyone.
Enjoy this important milestone in your treatment!
Congratulations to you on your Prove Trial. That is wonderful. I'm so happy for you. You go girl! You are helping all of us, even Susan.
so very glad for you, and glad you didn't get that nasty rash! good for you!!!!
