Nose, Lip and tongue twitching/tingling

Yesterday about 6pm i noticed my nose was twitching on the right hand side, then my upper lip, and then my tongue felt tingly.. Today i just started up again at 1pm, it's really annoying and it is making me very nervous as to what it is.

Anyone else experiencing this? Is it Stress related? I do feel kind of worked up about alot of things. But never had this as a symptoms before..

This discussion is related to Twitching on the side of my nose..

I would recommend clicking on doctorneemedical's name, look at and print her profile, come back to this thread, print out her post, and go to a different doctor, asking for the tests she recommended.  That might get you some place.

Hello, I went to the Doctor's yesterday and told her off my symptoms, the creepy crawli/tingling sensation through out my body, worse in my chest, hands and groin.  She completely dismissed it, and said perhaps it could be a spring allergy try some over the counter meds, I have bought myself some Claritin but am a little weary of taking it..

What are your thoughts?

Thanks again

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
It is difficult to comment really without examination. Yes, stress can be the cause. However diabetes mellitus is a likely cause for head and tongue tingling. It could also be due to nerve compression very high up in the cervical vertebra. Excess alcohol intake, partial seizures and low calcium levels all cause head and tongue tingling. Wisdom tooth is another cause. It could also be due to allergy to some food item.
I would suggest you get the blood levels of the following checked if they have not already been checked: potassium, calcium, sodium, magnesium, vitamin B complex, or vitamins B1, B3, or B6 and Vitamin D. Generally deficiencies of any of the above can cause muscle twitching and spasms in localized or generalized areas of the body. Get your kidney function, parathyroid gland function and adrenal function tests done because these affect the electrolyte balance in the body. Stress, alcohol, caffeine and fatigue all cause similar symptoms. Certain sleep disorders and peripheral nerve disorders due to diabetes or hypothyroidism can also be the cause.
Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
