Dent from Depo Provera shot...

At the end of June I had received an injection on one butt cheek for depo provera... In the second week of august I noticed a dent clearly visible to the naked eyes... I feel very insecure about this! Will this type of dent heal with time or should I look into some type of filler? I don't know what to do...

Hello,
What you seem to be having is due to atrophy of the skin or muscle due to the injection. It should gradually improve on its own in a few weeks but sometimes it may take even an year to fill. If the dents remain then collagen filling from a cosmetologist may be needed.

I have the same issue from the depo I work out regularly and they have been here for over a year now I don't let them injection in my thighs anymore because of the horrible dents it looks horrible I'm in the process of talking to an attorney I can't afford fillers and there needs to be a warning that they do not go away! I can't model for my gym print ads because of the dents they look like bruses from a distance and ruined the look of my legs! People need to know

I have the same exact issue!!!! I didn’t realize what it was until I put it together: 9 shots of depo = 9 indents in leg.... I stopped the subq and now on regular depo.... it’s horrifying and last year I couldn’t find anything about this side effect- all of the sudden they have it included!!! Did you find any lawsuits regarding this issue?!! If you need another person for a witness, please contact me!! ***@****

I have had my indentation for over 15 years now and couldn’t figure for the life of me why it was there. Then, I started looking online for side effects of depo.  I had it MANY years ago. It has NEVER gotten better, changed and it even hurts from time to time.  It’s hard in the middle and almost brown in color.

I also have this issue!!!! Except the crazy part is I haven’t had the depo shot since 2018!!!!! Maybe even 2017. I haven’t had any shots at all on my hip / upper butt check area either and randomly 3 months ago this indentation starting forming. It started our small and now it is about 2 inches wide and an inch deep!!! The center is hard and almost white like a scar. I’m shook and so embarrassed about it! I genuinely feel I need plastic surgery to cover it up. I want to sue depo because my OB said this is what it is from! It looks horrible. It looks like I’ve been shot!

This same thing happened to me, this is my second shot and it just randomly happened a week after I got the shot and I feel so self continuous about it. I’m only 15 and I wish I could do something for it to go away but it won’t. I need help and fast it’s causing my insecurities to expand!

Anyone here filed any lawsuits or know of class action suit against Pfizer ? I had 3 dents in my legs from sub-q depo shot before I realised what was causing them. I also developed lots of cellulite I never had before and aches and pains in my legs that my doctor dismissed before I realised what happened. 2 years on and they are slightly less visible but still prominent and cellulite never improved and legs and hips still ache.

I've also kinda rapidly developed cellulite & didn't even consider it might be a side effect, but I'll be 40 this year & have never had much visible cellulite & now I have it on the FRONT of my legs (?)

I’ve just noticed a dent in my stomach in the same place I had my shot just over 3 months ago, and when I touch it I can feel a hard ball in it! I’ve just done my 4th shot, the first one in my leg, and I haven’t heard ANYTHING about this until now! If anyone does go to court count me in please :(

I have 4 dents from 4 shots. I used to love my legs and now they look awful. I didn’t realise what was happening to me and my sports massage therapist couldn’t figure it out either until I had my last shot and got a new dent. They’ve been there for over a year. No sign of going away. One of the dents has a tiny hard lump in it, like a grain of rice. Had the old muscular depo for years with no issues, was not warned this new type could do this and not given a choice. If anyone does manage to bring a class action suit against the company please count me in. Furious.

Same issue here!!! First indent appeared in 2015 and still around!!! So sad and destroyed self image - depressing - wish there was something done for those who were not aware of this issue prior to their updated list of side effects!!!
