Pain after gallbladder surgery

Hi,
I am 23 and just had my gall bladder removed two months ago due to ongoing pain for years and stones in my gall bladder. After the surgery I was feeling great having the pain that I had been suffering with for years gone I was pretty excited to not be in pain anymore and being on the low fat content diet was relatively easy for me since I have Celiac Disease and am used to restricted diets. About 3-4 weeks ago I drank a small amount of alcohol and ate some food at a party and suddenly I had this horrible stabbing pain on the right side of my body just below my rib cage. At first it was just uncomfortable but then I broke out in a cold sweat, got really pale, and everything from breathing hurt. I have never experienced pain like that before and was about to go to the hospital but drove to the drug store first and bought antacid on my doctors help lines request and the pain seemed to dissipate after about a half hour.  I couldn't figure out if it was the alcohol or the food that I ate that caused this pain so I was very cautious a few weeks later when I went out with friends to celebrate and had a margarita. I was fine so I thought that it was the food but last weekend I went to a restaurant again had a margarita and the same pain came back it didn't last as long as the first time. Last night I went to Olive Garden and got one glass of wine and was fine but now at 7am I am again doubled over in pain. I cant figure out what is happening and cant figure out if it is the food or the alcohol that is causing it. I only drink about once a week and never to excess and the pain seems to revolve around that but I think it could also be that I was never eating my home cooking while it happened.

The pain is in my right side directly below my rib cage where my gallbladder used to be. It comes in waves and gets worse before it gets better and can feel like stabbing pain to burning. I have an appointment on Monday with my surgeon and plan on asking him about this but came on here for some answers first. Very frustrated hope someone can help.
Samantha

I had my gall bladder removed July 31st and I am in pain on my right side under my rib cage.  I keep thinking that I haven't healed, but I have pain more often now than before the surgery!  I don't drink or even eat much of anything that would cause pain.  In fact the things that make me sick now didn't bother me before the surgery.

I had mine removed in January and i find there are few things that still bother me, bringing back that familiar pain i suffered for 8 months, alcohol being one of them, I think pretty much anything with high acidity or gassy bother me the most, usually I take a Zantac and helps shortly after.  Let me know what the surgeon says it is.  Good luck and feel better.
