"Oral candida is fairly common in immunologically normal people; I had it once.
Get this straight: Based on the information you provide, YOU CANNOT HAVE HIV. Take any and every additional question to your provider or the HIV support forum, not here".
I wince every time I read the suggestion to take it here.
i dont care what the doctor says hes an idiot, i have been reading all his treads and he says the same thing to any and everyone that has a negative past 6 weeks! he wont even read or look at the symptoms..what kind of advice is that..
You said you tested negative multiple times, up to 10 weeks. You are negative.
I can't believe you paid good money to ask a well respected specialist a question, you got an answer, and then come here to ask a bunch of a strangers the same thing. Who's the idiot?
your the idot..if you cant answer the question go -uck your self i,m hear for support not to hear your sarcasm
If you're here for support, then listen to the advice given, including that given by Dr H. If you don't want to listen, then go somewhere else. The bottom line - you have tested negative up to 10 weeks. At this point, the chances of you being HIV+ are about 0.05% (ie. 1 in 2000), irrespective of what you did (of which you give no details),
Symptoms do not determine HIV infection, HIV testing does. Guess what - you have tested HIV negative. Candida may or may not be immunosuppressive but are you going to tell me you've had it for 10 weeks??
Anyone who calls a respected physician with 25 years experience of detecting HIV infections and other STDs an idiot because the physician won't tell him what he wants to hear is a fool and cannot be supported on this Forum. We are not going to say "yes, you have HIV" just because you want to hear it.
Well, we COULD say it, couldn't we? *grins*
Just this once? Pretty please with a condom on top?
first of he answered only one of all my questions and yes i have had candia since the 11th day of my possible infection and its hairy leukoplakia i have, and i also have Angular cheilitis and these are both 2 indictaor of hiv.thats why i asked him if i was suppressd.i told him this before as well as its the secound time i post with him..he never answers the full question and he always says you dont have hiv when he sees a negative after 6 weeks..and i know there are people that have tested postive past that..
Wow, that does sound suspicious. Sorry I called you an idiot. I apologize. It's almost unbelievable that all those tests, so very accurate after 6 weeks, could be wrong. Wow.
Okay, let's start from the top. Firstly, what was your exposure?
Secondly, have you diagnosed hairy leukoplakia yourself? Basically, it can really only be diagnosed by biopsy study and frequently looks like Candida. If you do have hairy leukoplakia, diagnosed by a healthcare provider (not yourself), then you should have mentioned it on your comment to Dr H. He cannot give you accurate comments if you do not give him all the facts.
As far as I'm aware (and I'm not a doctor), angular cheilitis is not a sign of HIV, but hairy leukoplakia MAY be, but it can also be found in HIV- people. It is caused by Epstein Barr virus, which is normally controlled by the immune system. Basically, hairy leukoplakia may be an indication of immune compromise, even in a HIV negative setting. Are you an IV drug user (sorry about the blunt question)? Are you under any sort of immunosuppressive medication?
No i,m not an iv user and what is that a drug user?..and no i,m not surpressed unless this candia is making me surpressed..also i did mention it to him in my ohter post and he stilled said the same thing..but at that time i was 9 weeks negative..also i read a post were a girl was negative at 6 weeks and tested positive at 12
also it was the doctor that diagnosed me with the candia and i,m on pill and nyastan as well fpor the last 2 weeks and it still did not clear up
At the moment, I can't work out the timelines, what your exposure was, when you developed candida, whether you do or do not have hairy leukoplakia. This is virtually impossible to do over a Forum of this sort. In amongst this, there are HIV negative tests and also a lot of anxiety from you causing other symptoms (ie. your tingling hands and feet).
What I would advise is to go back to your healthcare provider and deal with each of these things in turn. The bottom line is that you should not attempt to self-diagnose anything, because it will drive you mad. If all you have is candida, then I think your 10 week negative test is almost conclusive that you are HIV negative. If you really have hairy leukoplakia (AND MAKE SURE YOUR DOCTOR MAKES THIS DIAGNOSIS - it cannot be done by yourself or us over the Net), then follow up the advice of the healthcare provider.
For the time being, do not freak yourself out by playing any "what if" games. Just take it easy and go see your doctor.
Hope you're okay! That was a lot more heated than normal on this Forum... :)
I've spent half the day on hold on the phone, and it makes me insane. Half the day.
Not surprised! Probably horrible lift music too.... :) Who were you calling and was it worth it??
you know, leukoplakia occurs in hiv when cd4 counts are lower than 200, late stage aids. really, you need to take a step back and chill a little, im sorry i my be a little late in the game here. what i mean is try to muster up courage to relax. the md suggest or candidiasis, now after 2 weeks on nystatin, and not working, go to your doctor, have him do a scrape of your tongue and analyze it. what ever you do dont self diagnose yourself with oral hairy leukoplakia. that is waht i meant at the top.
Traffic court, about my freaking stupid husbands freaking stupid ticket. He's too important and too busy to bother with calling for the info.
