I had the mesh sling (bladder support) done almost 20 years ago. It was the very best thing !! Not problems, but doctor told me it would need to be replaced at 10-15 year mark. About 16-17 years I started having small leakage, I would be asleep and wake up need to pee. Upon standing I began to leak while walking to bathroom. So I would hold myself. My current Gynecologist also says I have a rectocele and a cystocele. I have seen a couple other gynecologists one for therapy and the other wants to do a hysterectomy. This doctor says my caffeine intake is my problem, LOL.
So I'm seeing a third doctor to get an opinion on the hysterectomy part. I really just want the Bladder Support redone! Why is that so difficult!? I am positive it is the weight of the bladder when full that is causing leakage, because the orginal bladder sling is most likely stretched out, over the almost 20 years (like they told me it would). I would go back to the doctor that first placed it but he is now 5 hours away. Anyone else been told that the sling would need to be replaced after 10-15 years??
