i get injections of (numbing) freezing as (like the freezing at the dentist office) and i have a doctor who used to do nerve pain injections via ultrasound at the hospital so he is very aware of every muscle and nerve involved - when he gives me these shots in tender or trigger points they sometimes last up to a month -?? why i dont know - sometimes they only last a week and sometimes just a couple of days - but they help me a great deal (this is not botox) and i should add that they have done tests on dry needle treatment (no freezing) and these work basically what happens is the pain cycle happening at place of injection gets interrupted - for me this is my sanity and it allows my back to relax for a while and it breaks up of the 'frozen' muscle feeling - you know that feeling like your whole back has turned into one large 1-2inch thick steak that is trying to thaw - hope this helps
Hi MollyOMy,
I've never used botox in the muscles, but that same pain that you are discribing I to have it in my right shoulder blade/spinal area. Nuerontin, norco, and dilaudid usually helps to relax that spot for me.
Sorry, but it's sometimes good to know that others experience the same type of pain.
