Tingling Sensations
I have had a tingling feeling in my genital area for about two weeks off and on. I can feel this on the inside of my thighs near my groin, around my anus. It seems to come and go. I have had no discharges from my penis and no marks on my skin. I also have had no fever. My doctor initally diagnosed as potentially chlamydia and prescribed an antibiotic which initially appeared to solve the problem.
One evening a few weeks later, I felt flu like symptoms with a strong prickly feeling up an down my arms and legs and around my forehead. My doctor diagnosed as a form of the flu.
So we are treating the flu like symptoms first.
I am still feeling the sensations around my genitals and inner thigh off and on and the flu like symptoms are subsiding. There is no tenderness or swollen areas.
Is this just a different strain of the flu or something else?

As I said, no STD causes such symptoms. Further, oral sex carries little STD risk and condom-protected vaginal sex is also zero risk for practical purposes. Everybody's temperature hits 99.3 from time to time; 98.6 is the average, not the top normal temperature.
Therefore, the timing of your with respect to the sexual encounter almost certainly is coincidental. Or if not coincidental, perhaps anxiety-related -- but you are a better judge of that possibility than I can be from this distance. However, if the problem persists, you might discuss that aspect with your provider, just to be sure all bases have been touched. But in the meantime, there is no cause for worry about STD or HIV.

No STD causes the sort of symptoms you describe. I'm not sure why your doc suspected chlamydia. (I hope you were tested for it and not just treated without testing.)
It's hard to know what you mean by "flu symptoms". If that means you had fever over 101 (not just feeling feverish), headache, muscle aches, cough, etc, then you likely had some sort of viral infection.
You also say nothing about your sexual exposures or other evidence that would help me assess your risk of STD. But based on what you do say, I see no reason to be concerned about STD.

The "flu" symptoms did not inlcude any high fevers. I had a 99.3 one day after the prickling sensations which may be a fever for me since I usually run 97 +. I have had no cough or muscle aches only this prickling feeling which was head to toe one evening for 3 to 4 hours. I did lose my appetite for a few days but physically did not feel tired or weak.
I did have a sexual encounter in mid-November and these first "Chlamydia" symptoms occurred two weeks later. I did receive unprotected oral sex and had protected intercourse. The woman I met claims she is totally clean. She appears to be an honest and straightforward person.
I know these symptoms appear week relative to STDs but I've never previoulsy felt these sensations and given the timing of the sexual encounter, I 'm a little concerned.
