I acquired Tinea versicolor from working out at the gym. It appears as lighter spots on the skin and is treatable. What worked the best for me was Selsun Blue Shampoo. Just apply to the affected area and wait about twenty to thirty mins and wash off. I left it on over night a few nights in a row and started getting a lot of irritation, but if you keep it to twenty or so mins the spots should start to go away. You can also try Lamisil AT.
Hi.
Are these patches lighter colored than other parts of the face?
White patches on the face may be due to a fungal infection. Tinea versicolor may present with patches or light colored areas of skin on the body. They may have a central clearing with mild scales in the center. There may be mild itching involved. I suggest that you have this assessed by your dermatologist. This may not be a photosensitivity reaction. If this is so, there has to be a degree of redness or blistering in the area.
Miscroscopic evaluation of skin scraping may be done to help determine the cause of the skin condition.
Is the area itchy?
Do other sun exposed areas in the body also present with similar skin condition?
