+ Rapid then - confirmatory

I am very concerned about routine bloodwork I've had done. In February I had annual std tests run. My initial rapid HIV test was positive but three confirmatory tests were negative. I was told not to worry that the tests indicate I am HIV negative.
But I have since become pregnant and my routice pregnancy HIV tests (six months after the February tests) did the exact thing: rapid test was positive and the following three confirmatory tests were negative. Now my doctor is concerned. What should I do? I've had more blood taken for a more specific test but do not have the results yet. I was told it could be ITP that is giving false positives, as I have a very low platelet count.

If you had a confirmative test done and it was negative, then YOU ARE NEGATIVE.

This is a false positive result, the negative WB proves that you are negative. Tell your doctor to stop giving you the same test that keeps giving false results!
