Gastritis for 9 nine months...what now?

Hi,

After going through the stress of my father almost dying and a bad brake up with my ex-girlfriend, I developed gastritis (which was confirmed with a gastroscope).  The diagnosis was erosive gastritis and the biospy was negative for H.Pylori.

I have been on Nexium ever since, however I have not had a noticeable improvement in this time.  I haven't drank any alcohol for six months, have avoid all caffeine, acidic food, carbonated beverages, etc.  I don't smoke, eat healthily and have been eating small meals and drinking plenty of water.

Being only 26 and having just moved cities, I would really like to have a couple of beers on a Friday afternoon.  Even this I cannot do unless I want to endure pain for the next few days.

This is making me so depressed and I am pretty much ready to give up.  I spent over $1200 on various herbal remedies, none of which have helped.

Is this normal for a 26 yr old?  Does gastritis generally last this long?  Should I get another gastroscope.

I've pretty much admitted defeat, but would greatly like to get my life back and be pain free.

Oh, before buying Oil of oregano. H. pylori goes with upper abdominal bloating and burping - more prominent than usually.

Here you can spend few more bucks: If Oil of oregano helps you - in few days, it means it still was H. pylori, since I'm not sure if biopsy is 100% reliable.

If you eat a lot of meat/eggs (proteins), it can help, if you limit them. Proteins stay a long time in the stomach and they trigger acid secretion.

Also: if it started with stress, it may continue from stress. If you can think things over, make some conclusions in peace, and concentrate on some satisfying work...it helps.
